Utd played to park the bus against Man City and Liverpool and lost both games 3-0. Why is this likely to be any different vs Bayern.
I simply don't get this idea Bayern won't try to win because they have the 2nd leg. Look at the last 2 seasons, they go to end these ties in the first leg every time, home or away. It will be the 2nd leg they take it easy if anything if they are already 3-0 up or the like. |

bm or any team will want to win the tie in the first leg.hl doesnt seem to get this concept

but they've hardly fared well in their last three home games against English sides, have they? 0-2 and 1-1 Arsenal, and beaten by Man City's reserve team. He'd be stupid if he ignored those stats, imo. All 3 of those games were after they'd done the hard work away first though |

I have to lay BM at these odds. It's an away game in the CL against an EPL side. It's a must lay.
BM were very lucky against Arsenal, very lucky indeed. They looked under real pressure when it was 11 v 11. It was also noticeable that BM struggled in the 2nd leg at home v Arsenal. I'm not so sure they are the world beaters you all think they are. However, they might be the new Barca ie they get pens and players sent off when required. If that is the case then what can you do... |

I'm going for bayern on the -1 handicap. There are goals for bayern they will dominate possession and Man Utd have been defensively weak. Villa the other day had quite a few chances to score.
|

Bayern definitely struggled early on v Arsenal, but after about 25 minutes they took over and were getting on top before Chesney was sent off.
Not sure you can read too much into the 2nd leg as i think Bayern played well within themselves, never got out of 2nd gear because they didn't need to. Would've seen a different performance if they'd needed a result. At the end of the day though, if we all agreed there'd be no betfair! |
|
By:
Anyone who thinks BM are desperate to win this leg do not know football imo. They have no need to win so therefore they will not try overly hard. They will take the win if they can get it easily, but if they meet tough resistance they will move into cruise control. It's football. It's what happens.

This will be as bad as 2011 wen barca destroyed them, bayerns defence is better than barca and there every bit as good at passing
|

They didn't look that great against Arsenal this year I agree, lucky is debatable in that the decisions were correct, but they weren't looking that great until that point. They destroyed Man City at the Etihad (at a time there was a lot of hype about Man City being unstoppable at the Etihad in this country). Destroyed Barcelona at the Nou Camp. Destroyed Juventus in Turin. Destroyed Arsenal at the Emirates last year.
All of those teams were far better equipped to deal with Bayern than Man Utd are tonight, all got comfortably brushed aside, all lost by at least 2 goals. |

biscuit you must have been watching a different game from me then. I saw Arsenal creating many opportunities to score. BM got their pen against the run of play. That changed the game.

To be fair though I must admit I am saving my bet until I see the opening few mts. I want to see how United set-up and see how they start the game.

Any outside chance they did have went away when Van Persie got injured. Surprises do happen sometimes but not here. Free money Bayern Munich.

agree they dont have to win but they will score at least twice

I think United have been playing better without RVP tbh - maybe it has been against weak opposition but they just looked like a more cohesive side.

How many threads exactly do we need on the prices of this match?

Arsenal goal should never have stood in Munich clear free kick I remember cause it cost me

Bayern will want to bang a few goals in tonight, get some away goals under their belt and if they win hansomly they'll be able to take it easy second leg and not risk bookings.

haha mugs, full bank on bayern, GERMAN POWAAAA

They don't have to win, perhaps. But the return leg will be played on the 9th of April, three days later Bayern will be facing off against Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena. Surely they would much prefer getting the job done tonight? Apart from Rooney, Manchester United really have no one who is in/at Champions League form/level.
Robben vs. Büttner... ![]() I'm guessing 1 - 3. |

Anyone watching UTD recently will know that they are very poor from the start and do not even have the confidence to string a few passes together without getting themselves in trouble.. Also UTD have no pace except for Welbeck and he's no winger..Rio and Vidic will be pulled apart no doubt
|
|

no pace i thought the lad januzaj looked quite fast to be honest

Diego Costa starts for Atletico. There had been doubts about his fitness. Arbed him to score anytime so I'm glad he starts.

will bayern go and win this 0-3 like man city?

Don't see why they won't.
