Just to clarify ; my area isn't currently covered by cable - so I would not benefit as it is - SKY just taking the proverbials now I'm afraid - 2 great nights of footy & we end up watching highlights - BBC offering that so why bother with sky
|

i'm getting a dodgy box -the installer said all i need is a sky dish (tick) and internet access (tick) - £60 a year, no card

I think this week is about to get worse for Sky with the news that BT and Al Jazzeera are going to outbid them for Footy next year.
Apparently the Arabs are minted !!!! |

My old man has a box called the Skybox F5. It cost him £120 installed. The bloke will reset it every year for £60. Pic quality is fine, but the user interface is poo compared to the Sky box.

that's what my old man must have - it costs him £60 a year but it went off just before xmas and the bloke was on holiday for 3 weeks so he had no satellite for 3 weeks |

Think me and your old man have something in common given that my box man was also on holiday for three weeks over christmas. I could even know him. |
|
By:
quite possibly - it is obviously a lucrative business if he can take 3 weeks holiday over xmas
It was a right pain in the ar$e as well as I have to go round there for BT games but he ended coming round to mine for everything even when I wasn't in ! I've ordered 2 boxes anyway and I will definitely be finding out when he takes his holidays ! |

Sky is a joke,Wont be long before everyone boycotts them,No value for money what so ever

Toffee - does Lee Park give a clue?
|
|
By:
Sky is a necessary evil if you're a family man who likes a trade as it keeps the wife and kids happyl. Not as much ball on as there was, but with decent BB we can see most non sky games online anyway. So don't underestimate it for its wife/kids distraction value!
|
|
By:
Toffee - does Lee Park give a clue
presumably the golf club - my dad plays there - I've no doubts you will know him - everyone knows him |
|
By:
Also considering leaving Sky. I have full package, HD, multiroom, BoxNation and now BT Sport, plus telephone and broadband. Cost me about £120 a month, with a discount. Defo going to have to reign some of it in.

You said earlier that you'll make sure you you know when Alan is going on holiday - the ongoing joke with him is what happens if he snuffs it He said just come to my funeral![]() |

Anyone with just Vermin Broadband can just buy a box then get virtually all channels for nothing.
Anyone not on Vermin just do search for Slybox F5s and all channels are around £10 per month (without subscribing to Sly) - but do plenty of research before doing it. |
|
By:
Just to clarify there are 2 types of box for Vermin. One is a HD version which costs around £100 more and shows all HD channels and is easier to update.... apparently.
|

By:
just seen there is no live game on Saturday tea time this week...great
|
|
By:
what kind of fine are u looking at if u get caught with one of these dodgy boxes?
|

No probs I've had my box for nearly 2yrs so it's paid for itself twice over. Some problems from time to time but still worth it to get rid of Sky who have finally stopped phoning me up. I've got a mate who lives in Altrincham whose got a HD box which also records. He got it from a guy based in Manchester. |

Of course it's worth it. I've got movies and sports packages and HD. All of which means the girlfriend and children get to watch whatever they want, whenever they want and if I'm really lucky I can squint and barely make out a few matches on Sky Go on my ipad with the customary 2 minute delay.
And all of this for just £75 per month. |

I pay £60 a year for Sports and movies.I know which I prefer.
