joe, Why are you continuing with this thread?
I would have thought that what ever point you are
trying to make would have been achieved by now as
practically no one else has posted in the last
month or so. GL though.

ken, if you bothered to read the first post you'd have the answer.

You want joe to stop as he's proving yourself and one of your idols wrong.

Keep it up, joe.

I'll just point out that with 25,000 views for Pricewise, 11,000 views here, and 3,000 on cricket, someone somewhere must be reading these Happy

CJ70, if you read the opening post you would see the OP
didn't give any reason for the thread, have another look.
If the OP wants to prove something everyone knows, that
being the fact that no one  can win doing what the columnists
are doing, not that they have they ever claimed to make a profit,
but if joe has nothing better to do, than log a thread,
that no one comments on, I have no objection.

Don't read many of your posts CJ70, so please forgive me for
failing to notice most of your inane contributions, but
please take the time out to draw my attention to the post
giving us the reason for the thread, It's totally point

A lot of your replies make more sense with the knowledge that you haven't actually read the post you are replying to.

One of the watchers here, a noble cause I reckon, seeing how the 'experts' perform over a long term - a yr seems as good a benchmark as any

interesting line from McGovern in todays paper - "When we place a bet we often do so on gut instinct, hunch or betting slip. The less shrewd do so because they support the team they back or like the name of a particular horse. The complete no-hopers turn to this column". He can hardly be accused of being precious about his record

every day, has no chance of showing a profit, so the lack
of betting mentality of those who think otherwise is assured.
No wonder bookmakers drive about in big cars.

Lack of profit is one thing, to be 20% down is atrocious. They are performing worse than chance alone by a significant margin here.

So I'll ask again in a slightly different way.....

As Derek is an experienced punter who presumably has at least half a brain, why put up a Bet of the Day if you expect to make consistent losses?

...because that is what he has been asked to do. If journalists
jobs depended on winning money by betting, there would be no journalists,
it's just tabloid pulp. The thickos are those who hilariously think otherwise.

Just about I'd say, as long as there's no wind to blow it out.
