is the word monkey racist when referring to an actual real monkey? some people are so incredibly thick that they don't understand context. These sort of people are often professional footballers or work in the media

the fact that its Woy and he is seen as such an inoffensive chap generally is why people are surprised. If it was certain other managers in the Premier League that had done this, people would be doing more condemning and would be less inclined to move swiftly on.

He wasnt referring to a black person Freddie , he was referring to a player. Roy Hodgson doesnt look at Townsend and see a black man first and everything else second. He sees an English footballer who is having the week of his life and in front of the rest of the experienced players and squad tells a tale that implies he is the man for the occassion.

The only people who see a black man in this 'story' are the naive cretins trying to make out something its not. Perhaps you should take a good look at yourself Freddie because unless you are on a wind up you clearly cannot separate a mans colour from his standing as a person.

This story obviously hasn't had the effect the Sun wanted it to have. What with it being almost unanimously discredited as a completely ridiclous non-story on social networking sites, plus Townsend himself and Rooney coming to Roy's defence, all in all it's made the Sun look pretty stupid.
