that must take a long time to be fair, analysing every single player in the world. expect them to be finished and ready to buy players sometime next century.

Get the trolley out Arsene, NOW!!

bid for Yohan Cabaye...so they scouted every player in the world and game up with Cabaye at Newcastle

then offers only half of what the club would accept.
Then scratches head why he carnt buy anyone. As time drags on, when Arsenal now make an approach clubs are going to whack up the price as they know they are deperate and the fans are turning against wegner. |

Will the real Stan Kroenke please stand up?

Disgraceful that we have to play Saturday morning after the Turkish triumph. BT will probably focus on Wenger with the commentator remarking how tetchy he looks. New channel same old crap.

F**king Bendtner, can't even loan now, what a ridiculous contract this boy was given, he's an embarrassment to himself and Wenger.

Surely its the end of the season that matters. Every season they make a good start only to fade badly.

to be fair the op gives an evaluation of the players at the emirate cup and his top one is ramsey saying he has improved and is looking good and is due a good season, not all bad on his part!

By:
Fair point quin , but also to be fair to the op he's missed the point about how Wenger operates.
AW continually frustrates the supporters by making decisions that are definitely unpopular in the short term with the fans but are often proved to be in the long term best interests of the players and the club. ( e.g. Ramsey slagged all last year. Song booed off at Charlton , Eboue booed off - all to come good eventually ) He sees these players day in day out and knows x 10 what the average fan sees or knows It's not an exact science - but Arsenal have a smart bloke at the helm and this season could be the year when it all comes right - now there is a bit of self-earned money to spend to compete with the " owners train-set " clubs at Man City and Chelsea ![]() |
|
By:
If Wenger pulls it off this year and wins a big trophy (league or Champs league), He will be elevated alongside Sir Alex imo.

Ramsey was pretty awful last year. He shouldn't have played most of those games, he wasn't good enough. We didn't have a deep enough squad. Arsenes weakness is vanity yes and idealism, he has no pragmatism. Never clearer than in the panicked deadline day signings of summer 2012. And tbh we were lucky to get Ozil this year. |
|
By:
Also Eboue, what!
came good did he ![]() ![]() |
|
By:
booing your own players is never a winning formula is it ?
And Ramsey wouldn't be the player he is today if Wenger hadn't boosted his confidence by making him one of the first names on the team sheet last season try and keep up songs ![]() |
|
By:
I reckon you could do a whole lot better but I love it! There's far more out there especially on Ramsey and Wenger.

"The panicked deadline day signings of 2012"
Arteta and BFG have been MOTM in our last 2 matches against the only big teams we've faced all year according to some. I think that day worked out ok. |

Arsenal still haven't won anything yet, what
happens if they still fail? |

happens if they still fail? Will 'they' be again calling for his head?? |

no team has a divine right to win anything. If we compete and give ourselves a realistic chance to win things then he will have done a good job

Good answer Maverick, but I don't
think the majority of gooners will think that way. For the record, I'm a neutral but I have always rated Wenger over the other top side managers. GL. |
|
By:
I think the majority of Gooners who were supporters before Wenger came will think that way, those that began supporting after 98 will certainly be less patient
|

Maverick, are you a pre 98 goner?

I'm a pre 1980 gooner!

Best manager in the league. I hope he wins an armful this season.
|
|
By:
A disgraceful performance and confirmation that we're staring into the abyss of failure once more. This is a club with an old tired manager, owned by a silent absentee landlord, run by business minded people who voraciously exploit our corporate clientele, the burgeoning middle class fanbase, and the lucrative foreign market. This squad is as feeble minded as the manager, they lack physical strength and tactical organisation, the boys are just ticking along uttering the right words, parroting a manager who increasingly looks like he should be locked up in the basement (if he was a member of the royal family he'd be there already). Arsene should be given a gold watch, applauded for his great work at the club then escorted from the Emirates because I get the feeling he wont go voluntarily. Time to get out of town Arsene.
With unabated rage, Max |

Top four in the league(with easy games to play).last 4 in the Fa cup (with easy teams left).Loads of money to buy new players in the summer(200 million)and the best stadium in europe(paid) and not a penny owed ,while every other club in the league owe millions except city and chelsea.yes he really is doing a bad job.

Which other club in the world with our resources would he have lasted so long ?
Nowhere is the answer Nearly the worst run of trophyless seasons and still he is there The worst run that dates back to when we won the Fairs Cup in 1969 |

The fact is that Wenger is worth at least £30-50m a year to Kroenke. £8m a year for another 3 years, no brainer.

By:
I'd love to know what David Dein thinks of Wenger now.
|
|
By:
Wenger agreed to all these conditions eight years ago,in the programme for the future of Arsenal fc.The expectations (now reality)are that the mighty gunners are the richest club in europe (with no sugar daddy). They are now in the position (financially)to rule the roost in the coming season and many seasons to come.Whenger agreed to all including the Arsenal wage structure for players.while all the premiership clubs struggle financially in the coming seasons Arsenal can now buy top players who become available with no worries.
