When the site goes down, as it does so often, it shd go down immediately, w/ no markets remaining up and confusing messages about application errors.

Part of the reason people are angry is that the initial prob. and part is their inability to deal w/ it according to a strict method every time.

I think Betfair is going to lose a lot of money and reputation and what not else, unless they can show they can fix this, without any problem, for at least 6 months in a row. Everything else negative already said by others, I agree......

Betfair have never refunded me a bet that I got caught with which lost when site went down. Plain
Do they have different rules for some compared to me? hahaha

Does anyone else feel this is a security issue and not a hardware issue? Happening too often now.

Here's the best bit ... if you click on their link to the "service" page, you get this message ...

There are currently no reported problems with any Betfair site.

Keystone cops.

a casual apology for INCONVENIENCE doesn't really cut it betfair. it is quite a bit more than an INCONVENIENCE to watch a guaranteed decent trading win wiped out without the ability to TRADE it. is this not a TRADING SITE???

Today I went into the bank. It was very busy. It was Saturday. Suddenly, they said all their systems were down. The customers were nonplussed. It happens a lot. The staff told them that they may have lost their money. But they apologised. So everyone went home happy.

Didnt they?

I dont think its a security or reliability issue.
Has it not been much more frequent since the reports in the news that Betfair profits had dropped and someone up the top said they had diversified too much and were going to concentrate on fixed markets. Heck of a coincidence.

Rather pointless though. Reputation is for the exchange feature. If its moving to fixed odds it becomes no different than any other site or a bookies ... well no different aside from having a s**t reliability record of course ;)

Seeing as we pay for the service and it then crashes, normally when most of us have bets placed maybe we should just take the buggers to court...

I wouldn't. That's more of a trading strategy and who knows if the site is stable now.

I've taken some money out my account and am going to put it into B-td-q. I know the liquidity is not so good but some is better than none.
