3 days?
By:
for what?
By:
Indeed. Money back for what?
By:
for what? where have you been the last 60 minutes. you coulndt place a bet.
By:
So, what do you expect? What about the people they won? They can't just take back that money and give it back to you. If you think they void or should void, you're clueless.

3 days ?
more like 3 years |
By:
I'm on the losing side too, but don't think its fair to void bets because the markets crashed the last 20 minutes of the games or so
By:
ive asked the question on site feed back ,dont really expect response
By:
Your bets were losers, and have been settled as such.
By:
I suggest we all email betfair asking them to void the markets tonight. I guess even though they have messed up, they still get paid through their commission.
By:
Which other companies still get paid if they stop working?
By:
You can email all you want, you won't have a chance.
By:
Well if we all email everyday, they will soon get fed up
By:
and then what about the people who won your money? they won it fair and square, why would betfair take the money from them? and honestly, would most of you cash out in those last 20 minutes?
By:
They won't get paid for the outage as no bets were matched in the interim.
However, they'll get paid for bets prior to the outage, as the platform faciliated those being matched. Your bets were losers. Betfair have settled them in accordance with it's T&Cs. |
By:
To be 100% fair to everyone they should void all the back/lay bets taken on matches inPlay when the system went down!
Read members saying isnt fair to take money from winning bets... what about the ones that wanted to close their trades when goal came? Was that fair?! The company name is bet FAIR so do as your name says... void win/loss bets. |
By:
Yes, I suspect the majority of people with money on Liverpool would have protected their winnings by laying off at odds of around 1.05
By:
on pool at 1.97 went 2-1 up then 1.15 , course id lay off
By:
Exactly, I had them at 2.07, would have laid off at 1.1
By:
I suggest just email them. I think if they are a reputable company, refund any losses on the markets and pay out the winnings. Take a hit for sub standard service.
By:
Betfair are not there to faciliate for "...the ones that wanted to close their trades when goal came?"
If some want to take positions, go ahead - but it's not Betfair's fault if you can't adjust your position. To suggest liability sits with Betfair is utterly laughable; is Betfair seriously supposed to guess what decisions its customers make? |
By:
put my bet on at about 67 mins was nt on from the start
By:
No, all we are asking from Betfair is to provide a good service.
By:
Which they did: your bet was matched.
By:
so I suspect the guys that were expecting liverpool to score to back them at 1.05 or 1.1 are all queueing to give the money they would have lost on it ;)
By:
not makeing sense Albert
By:
Albert, make sense!
By:
Matching my bet isn't good service. That's their role, they take comission for it. So if your bet is matched but they don't pay out, is that good service Albert?
By:
the service they provide isnt just matching ur bets.. they provide a service where u are able to trade your position, any given time of the game.. so...
By:
Is that "makeing" or making you meant?
By:
By:
lol at this
and would you have given your winnings back if your bets had won |
By:
Noone should give their winnings back. Either betfair should have voided all in play markets, or they should take the hit.
By:
from the TOC you all agreed (but likelly didn't read) when creating an account:
"Please be aware that if you place a bet with the intention of subsequently placing a separate bet to reduce the liability incurred by the initial bet, there can never be a guarantee that the Services will be available at the point you wish to place the subsequent bet (this is the case regardless of whether or not the unavailability of the Services is due to a matter beyond our reasonable control)." |
By:
guys this happens and you cannot expect betfair to void the bets as that would be completely unfair to the people that won money fair and square. Betfair are not going to void a load of bets because of people saying 'I would've layed off'. If you don't like it then tough really. Don't use betfair.
By:
we would all be in the bookies after work if we wonted straight bets , thought this was the idea of sites like betfair
By:
Maestro has a point. If we all leave, then it will create a chain effect as less customers means less liquidity. I am already seeing his on the asian handicap markets.

Please enlighten me as to whose fault it is then if Betfair's site goes down? Is it my fault? Is it your fault? |
