never understood why peeps don't have back up accounts for crash situations, it's not like it's the first time it's happened!

if your bet had won, would you request to give the money back to the loser out of courtesy ?

Are you just pretending to be thick Albert or are naturally dumb?

not possible agaz, it could have been matched in many bits, and that person could be going into a red position from it etc.

Crying like babies, because you lost money.

You placed your bets, you accept the liability.

Nonsense like 'I wasn't able to trade-out' is laughable.

Betfair isn't there to read your mind; it's there to take your bet, which it did.

Exactly again. Anyone who thinks Betfair void or should void is clueless. Do you expect the peope that won to "give" their money back? Not possible and not acceptable.

Oh no, what's a multi-mullion pound company going to do without your £67?

Give me one solid reason why bets matched in good faith on the trading platform should now be voided?

I think you're missing the point. Yes a bet is placed in good faith but if someone uses this site to trade and that option is then taken away from them, then betfair aren't really complying with their side of the deal are they?
I've been hit by this before and quickly learnt to have accounts elsewhere for when this site crashed (there was a spell when it happened almost weekly) but that doesn't make it alright.

Agaz? what? what the "will" of customers have to do with this?
WE are useing a TRADING company. No a usual bookie. THere is a difference. Bookies WORK before and after a game. BF works during the GAME. IF they STOP working during the game, its like the GAME never happened.

something big happened here, there system failed. It can happen then timing was awful for some of us, but it inst the first or the last time its gonna happen. Have a contingency plan when betfair becomes unavailable.

the system didnt fail. They were able to manage, suspend and settle markets. It was just that customers were unable to place bets.

"the system didnt fail. They were able to manage, suspend and settle markets. It was just that customers were unable to place bets."

That's because the market governance module is seperate from the trading platform.
