nobby clarke, when did the czechs play germany? i think you meant russia...

i think you are overreacting to the opening game portugal v germany. opening games are notoriously nervy affairs and not to be taken too seriously.

6.6 Czech Republic is a cracking price. I think Portugal rightly are the slight favs but the discrepancy in the prices is not matched by the difference in the teams. On that basis a back of the Czechs and covering the stake on the draw is where the value lies for me.

hope it isnt our 1st 0-0.
itll be nervy so it may be, i just portugal play the same way they did v holland, and that performance deserves a good deal of credit - were talking about one of the favs who needed to win and portugal deservedly beat them instead, however they wont win the comp because germany are better as proved already.

Ronaldo is starting to believe a little again that he is the One. Czechs click in and out of quick moves to frustrating bad play, always can click long enough to win comfortably 2-0. Portugese suffer from nervous costly mistake malfunction in the past. Chances are they will all get tight and the first scoreless draw could land. Been an open tournament though so 3-1 Portual just as likely. Quarter finals tend to be draws so keep in line of form and go for a 1-1 draw. £50 on each 0-0 at 10s  1-1 8.2s 1-3 at 17s 2-0 at 42s. If it is scoreless at HT will take the 3.5 and lay 200 and hope for one of them classic halves of goals or a more realistic goal each.

if ronaldo turns in on tonight hell prob end up being player of tournament, cant really take to him but he was magnificent last game, thats the way he should always play, ie. commanding the play

^ Agreed, when it matters these sort of teams can draw on the likes of Ronaldo, Pepe, Merelies to give them that cutting edge, and extra quality. Portugal are going to be too much for the Czech's - touching on what previous people have said, if Ronaldo shows up it could become a non-contest.

don't you think portugal and ronaldo took advantage of a desperate netherlands, who were throwing everything forward and leaving themselves exposed to counter attacks? i think a lot of people are reading too much into that game. and anyway, netherlands were bloody awful in this tournament.

I agree high_lander, I think this game will be tight and a lot closer than the odds suggest. On that basis i'm starting with a lay of Portugal.

I agree high lander,he shouldnt get as much space tonight, thats why im backing the draw with a view to trading out, saying that the bloke is top class and the Czechs must stay focused.

Portugal got through from a group that the czechs would have no chance of qualifying from, if portugal score first this could be a rather long night for the czechs.

I think the Czechs are a sporting option here.

I like the way they improved through the group stages. A limited team that got spanked 4-1 on opening night then won it's next two, including a final game that saw Poland playing in front of their own fans and needing a win to qualify. They also have the best goalkeeper in the world in their side and a few attacking options to punish any team.

Naturally Portugal are the likelier winners but I agree that they were a tad flattered by the Holland result, and could easily have thrown away a 2-0 lead against an average Dutch side.

I think this will be pretty close, so 6.6ish about the Czechs is worth a squirt.
