Lay Portugal in 90mts - they are very overrated mainly because Ronaldo plays for them. Not a great side at all, the Czechs will give them a good run for their money. I can see it going to extra-time and pens - most likely going to be one of those dire nil nilers.

I can't see why people keep talking about Ronaldo. Did you watch Portugal vs Denmark? or Portugal vs Germany? Ronaldo was simply useless and they still played as good as any team in this competition so far. I wasn't very confident before the start of competition, but just because of bad recent form. This same team beat Spain 4-0 just after the WC2010 and players like Pepe, Coentrao, Meireles, Nani, Moutinho are top class. They're just missing a top striker, but Ronaldo is there to score

I'm liking Portugal here. Might even give Ascot a miss and have a large one on the Portugese

Portugal should be too strong here.
Czechs were embarrassed by Russia, almost pegged back by Greece after their superb start and were solid without being convincing against Poland. Huge step up in class for them tonight and i think Portugal will be too good for them. |
|
By:
I'm thinking a slow start, so lay to back Portugal 1.8 going into 2s
Draw Ht/Portugal FT could be the one |

Been impressed by the czech RB Gebre sellasie so far in this tournament, be interesting to see how he copes marking Ronaldo tonight. After the Portugal-Holland game, the Dutch RB van der Wiel said he was impossible to mark and he couldn't get near him.
|

By:
Unplayable when he's in that sort of mood.
Cant see past Portgual through in 90 mins, if they score early it could be a very comfortable night imo. |

Russia played very well that day against the Czech's - Russia often turn in an exceptional performance only to falter later on. Apart from that one game the Czechs have played okay. They are one of these teams who keep improving with every game. And they tend to do well in the Euro's.

Milan why not over 1.5 then? If Czechs scored every match, and Portugal to win/score at least 1, then over 1.5 is free money?
|
|

Was just wondering where he got that price as i thought it was too high

Just let the man have his extra .03! And I agree with you Brucey!

Over 0.5 @ 1.13?
0.5 is my mosy used bet, and the highest I've ever seen is 1.10. |

laying 0-0 would be suicide in this obvious nil niler

q finals anything could happen just because portugal were very good agaisnt holland doesnt mean they will be in this one-off, however, i somehow cant see such an ordinary team like czechs, who struggled in qualification v scots, being in semi finals so maybe just a czech lay?
|
|
By:
scotland would have probably got to the semi's in this competition. czechs needed to cheat to knock us out and we very nearly beat spain in a competitive qualifying match. i reckon that makes us the 2nd best team in the world.

after the usa maybe

I wouldn't be placing any meaningful money on portugal
The Czechs will be a stern test for them Portugal are better setup to counter attack rather than pressing as the favourites Some one on another thread mentioned 0-0 after 90 minutes and that wouldn't surprise me at all. |

With Liechtenstein a close 3rd. If only they'd held onto that lead against Scotland. |

surely portugal should be closer to 2. Will be almost a home game for the Czechs. Its a one off game and portugal have been pretty inconsistant
|
|
By:
?? In what areas have Portugal been inconsistent ?
Portugal win for me. |
|
By:
Lay Portugal, because this is value. All the more I don't think that Portugal will win.
|

Ronaldo to score anytime is far too low for a game like this
|
|
By:
Nervy knockout match; tight and tense. Low goals and price far too low to back Portugal. They haven't been that good. Contain Ronaldo (if possible) and there's very little to choose between the two.
I'm going to watch for 20 mins, and if still level and Czech holding their own, I'll lay Portugal at anything under evens. |
|
By:
Some people don't seem to have been watching the group games.
Czechs were awful against the German, benefited from suicidal Greek defending and fluked a winner against Poland. Portugal narrowly lost to the Germans, had a rip-roarer against the Danes despite Ronaldo missing 4 sitters and beat the Dutch. The energy they demonstrated that night was pure top flight. |

Over 2.5 is a fantastic bet at 2.26

Ronaldo hasn't always produced his best performances against the big teams. But we're talking the Czech Republic here. Are we now considering them to be a big team?? No. They're exactly the kind of decent but not great opponents Ronaldo tends to excel against. Add to that the fact that the Portuguese team has some decent players and is growing in confidence, and there's no reason why the Czech Republic should do anything other than lose here.
Possibly they'll put up some resistance, and Portugal To Qualify or the Draw No Bet would be safer options (I've gone for the latter), but I don't see how anyone can view 1.75 (now 1.72) as poor value for Portugal. |

Nobby, those Germans had a tough time in the Group Stages. Were they really playing in both Groups A and B?? Gosh...
