Forced Barca to play wide on the basis that crosses (if they got them in) would be snuffed out by Ivanovic, Terry etc.
Different game, encouraging Robben and Riberry to go down the flanks and cross for Gomez is not on.

Without Luiz and Cahill it will be tough, if they both play there is a chance.
Plus playing Final Away is unusual handicap.
Winning the CL sorts out the best in Europe. Chelsea have done remarkably well to fly the flag for England and get this far.
Good luck to all.

any idea what chelseas lineup will be??

i wouldnt be suprised to see van buyten with boateng.
dont think they will risk the ukranian against drogba although he has played centre back quite a lot for kyiv

van buyten is more equipped to deal with drogba

For all of the talk about how well Chelsea "parked the bus" (f**king ridiculous expression), they had to ride their luck a fair bit -- didn't Barca hit the woodwork four times over the two legs?

I think they have been quite lucky so far under RdM, and that is the main difference between his tenure and AvB's. The luck will run out come the final (I hope). It's quite obvious that Bayern are a much superior team to Chelsea and I can't see that Chelsea will luck their way to victory in this one as they did against Barcelona. Nor do I see Chelsea just straight-up outplaying the Germans.

And if it goes to penalties, then Germany also has that covered...

Chelsea are missing their best player ( Ramires ) and their Captain and best right back.

I forsee a brutal Bayern tearing chelsea a new arse hole.

Bayern Munchen 3 - 0 Chelsea

( Gomez 7, Robben 22, Muller 81 )

wasn't actually after spurs defended for 90 mins for a 0-0 at the bridge that jose first coined the expression ?

not the first side you'd associate with sticking 10 men behind the ball

Nice and tight with Lamps controlloing the midfield and producing another world class pass to show Xavi how it is done to the Drog 1-0 job done .

Chelsea may well stuff the box as they did against chelsea, it was pure anti football. i have this horrible feeling that it is `written in stone` and chelsea will win the champions league, i really hope not.

they,ve got a fighting chance imo, earned it the hard way too. its how their makeshift defence copes 1st 25 mins. if they can, drogba torres can bring any defence down. torres will be useful if counter attacking(if used). bayern being at home can bring pressure to them and make them under perform. might not be as one-sided as a lot of people think.

bayern not forcing chelsea to park the bus will only expose chelsea more to pacier players in robben and ribbery.

if they do park the bus gomez is a better option than what barca had
