To get back to the original point, I suspect the reason most people lose is that in order to win long term, the operation has to be professional i.e. it has to be a 'job'.
However, the reason most people gamble is to escape the frustration, pressure, pain of their 'job' and they aren't prepared to replace those aspects with others that are equally frustrating, pressured and painful. In summary, if you are capable of making gambling pay, you are equally capable of not needing to gamble. |

very few people make profit from gambling, loads of people study the sh!t out of it and get nowhere. maybe like one person in a hundred thousand makes decent money... and i'm only saying decent money, not millions.

Betting on here should be looked on as a hobby as viewed like any
other hobby, and will cost, apparently 98@, of those who enjoy this hobby. My hobbies are playing golf, jazz, playing with numbers, and watching live sport, mainly soccer, and betting. The enjoyment of the last one is in getting it right more often than wrong. I've been at it a long time (betting) am successful in a modest way, and I put that down to sound methods of selection, patience, discipline, sticking to what I think I understand, realism, and most importance, modest expectancy, The toughest part is dealing with the losing runs, and that is where belief in your methods, and acceptancy of reverses. It's because the gambling gods are like tabloid newspapers.
They like to build you up just to smash you down . |

discipline, focus. the 2 words you will always find in a mugs thread.
the reason you are losing is because your bets aren`t good enough to beat bookmakers edge. people that struggle with money management are either overconfident wanting to win fast, or lack confidence and hope for luck. opening poster belongs into the second category. |

Another clichè. Please point to the rule which says "winning must be a job". Of course it's not a cliché and I never said 'winning has to be a job'. I said the operation has to be professional and therefore it must be a job; even if one has a professional operation, winning is in no way a certain outcome. I guarantee you this, that anyone winning on here in the long run is operating in the context of professionalism or alternatively they have access to information from those that do. |
