I guess, as I look at the entire season form rather than most recent from (arguably a flaw), I'd say that St Pauli's record of failing to score at home only twice compares favourably with most other teams in the league, and their goals per game ration at home of 1.86 is above the average of 1.58. The clincher for me is Union Berlin's away form. They haven't gone a single game without conceding a goal away from home, and they ship on average 2.43 goals per game, which is way above the average of 1.58 for the league as a whole. As a result the spreadsheet predicts a comfortable home victory. Stats can make monkeys of us however, as with the Real Madrid game. |

Secondly, if anyone is interested, I have ran through the games for today in Bundesliga 3 and found that Saarbrucken also qualifies (3.9). Hope you don't think I'm treading on your toes, JOCI. |

I just don't look at Bundesliga 3 as the league comes 25th out of 31 in my ranking of "attractiveness" for goals (over 11% 0-0 ratio and 2.5 goals on average), so while I wouldn't want to put anyone off, this is why it didn't appear on my list of qualifiers.

Tony - Italy is in my 'red zone' not to be trusted list.
Iceland doesn't appear on www.soccerstats.com, so I don't look at it (just out of convenience). Think when I did look at it in the past, the odds were crazy low on goals. |
