trouble with the young is they actually believe they know it all - 'wisdom' is nothing more than realising that you don't know it all.  Every person who is not 'young' knows this.
When I was young I knew for sure that no-one could tell me anything.

I don't consider it to be gambling anyway. It's betting with knowledge of a probable outcome I wouldnt put money on a casino game, just as I wouldnt bet on a sport I know nothing about, for anything except fun.

Its your money its none of her business nor the banks what you do with it as long as its legal, even then its not really their business. You should make a complaint and make it clear you will close the account if any member of staff ever dares question your spending again - threatening to close an account **** them up. I had an account with barclays years ago, went in to withdraw 1500 in cash, the woman ebhind the counter asked what it was for, and I said private use (it was my money) she said she couldnt give me the money unless I gave a reason, so I sid it was to buy a sackload of ecstasy tablets to sell to kids at a rave (it was around 1993). She got flustered, and I said ok I;ve changed my mind, please give me all the money I'm closing the account, in the end she called the manager, told him I was getting money to buy drugs - he apologised about 30 times in 2minutes, when it was clear I was taking none of their ****.Banks will treat you like a **** if you let them.I once had HSBC try and sell me protection on a loan, by saying, what if you get cancer and die and you dont have protection on the loan.Banks are ****

But S or A is right to not be happy, it's not the business of the banker to judge how he earns his money

I think he must mean he he used to live in one of the very many countries where where gambling, especially online gambling, is banned or heavily restricted.  e.g. that so called paragon on free-speech and free-enterprise the USA - but there are many others in the so-called civilised world

Yes they have spoken to me like that and yes I did complain to the area manager and higher. I put it down to jealousy. Try telling them when they offer you a 3% return per year for locking your money away, that you expect to earn 3% per day and see how they react. Now the woman just scowls at me every time I deposit several thousand in cash from horse winnings

OK, but can you convince a banker to borrow you money to buy a house saying you are a "trader" on sports ? Never tried it myself but i don't think so

my primary reason for gambling has changed over the years from making money for myself to being able to say 'FCUK YOU' to all the people who told me I was wasting my time.
Paul we're talking about how non-gamblers regard gamblers here : but you got to get your personal-probing in.  No-one here gives a fcuk how often Iceking 'makes such money' on the nags. He may be a total fantasist - but again , NO-ONE CARES !  except you.

agree on this, people basically dont know anything about sport betting so they just think of this type of 'gambling' like a roulette or something completelly ramdon instead of a discipline in which skills brings success. tbh, the posters in WH highstreet highlighting that a tenner on a 4-2 will bring you 200 quid dont help to explain it.

so just by being say in profit munter is that enough to say "FCUK YOU" to these doubters?

I think this is not a problem, you can ask for a 3rd of the money you need for the house and then follow the-special-one fred to 3x your money in 30 days...100% guaranteed.

ha ha yes paulie, because they'd have no answer, they'd have been proved wrong. And they are so very very sure they're right, without realising they know less than nothing. I would so enjoy seeing their speechlessness when shown they be wrong.
It's just about the the last thing anyone ever admits in this world : that they were wrong. Sounds like a simple thing, but it's not.

I lived the same thing, desperatemunter, so many people look at you like if you was crazy to try to make a living of that, it can make you very angry. That's why i learned to shut my mouth on what i am doing.

Frimpong, I can give you an easy horse racing strategy, but it takes a while to add up.
