Edinburgh punter wins £101k on William Hill Scottish Cup A William Hill online punter from Edinburgh has landed the bet of a lifetime. The canny Scottish punter placed a four-fold accumulator bet on last weekend's William Hill Scottish Cup and landed a whopping £101,200 for his troubles. The punter's £100 accumulator resulted in the biggest ever individual payout in William Hill Scottish Cup history after all four teams won their first round ties by four goals or more. Cove Rangers got the accumulator rolling by beating Glasgow University 4-0, Huntly then beat Newton Stewart 6-1, Culter beat Burnisland Shipyard 4-0 and Wick Academy beat Coldstream 9-1 to round off his mammoth payout. ‘This punter obviously had a crystal ball when making his selections,' said William Hill spokesman Tony Kenny, ‘To bet on four teams to win by four goals was a phenomenal leap of faith and we'd like to wish this shrewd Scotsman all the best with his new found fortune.' £100 Accumulator Cove Rangers to beat Glasgow University by 4 or more goals @ 4/1 Huntly to beat Newton Stewart by 4 or more goals @ 9/2 Culter to beat Burntisland Shipyard by 4 or more goals @ 18/5 Wick Academy to beat Coldstream by 4 or more goals @ 7/1 Total Return £101,200 anyone ![]() |

Al, read your threads before and was glad to see today's. I've had my biggest win by a distance and I owe you to say the least! Just over £100k has been settled by the good folks at Willie Hill's :) If you're ever in Edinburgh, I will seek to repay some of that in the finest beer the city has to offer! theres a clue for you guys |

i didn't bother reading through the thread again

Hi Guys.
Glad the Don took them to the cleaners and got the publicity. I love the fact that Billys still think this was a crystal ball bet. Its quite good that Culter and Cove just obliged and no more. Reality is they both could easily have won by far more goals. While odds compilers use correct score charts that apply to the English Premiership for Scottish cup 1st round ties then we always stand a chance of landing big. I was unfortunate not to land the 500-1 Wick 9-0 Scoreline. May come on and tip the Scottish Junior cup ties next saturday. |

FRONT PAGE OF THE DAILY RECORD ABOUT £100K WIN - (the best selling scottish newspaper)
Doesn't mention betfair tips - although the guy got them from here - great work superbigal and kiddo112 - wish I had followed your tip |
|
By:
feck me you have set the bar high OP, brilliant tipping- like the 100s of others reading this , gutted not to have read this thread sooner, given Hills a lot of money over the years!
|

Apologies about the lack of Superbigal or Betfair mention - the Record reporter was firing questions at a fair rate to get it done in time for the run and I wasn't exactly prepared. There was some 'poetic licence' in what was published - funnily enough it was different to the version I asked to be emailed before it was printed.
Once again, a HUGE thanks to Superbigal as his knowledge of the junior teams has once again been proven. Don't know how to work it, but looking to give you a wee thank you. |

By:
if only betfair had them on here.

well done superbigal read your thread lunch time sat , for years S.CUP always looked a good hunting ground for acc etc keep my wagers kinda straight forward , saw where you were at and explained it so well for forumites to catch on . cant believe bookies warning systems never kicked in better ? relatively easy most weeks for books on pools . to go whole hog and all up a near miracle , no account for me on hilly billys so missed out . suspect a reduction on scores at these levels of games imminent ? best thread ever again well done superbigal . off to track down a dailly record for scrap book .

There are some bitter readers in the comments section, saying you are going to give it all back. I might call them bitter mugs and point them in the direction of this fred.

You lot sound like a lot of bitter mugs who didnt get on at massive prices, like us shroodies. Check the fred below from a punting forum, where the advice to get on this bet originially came from. http://community.betfair.com/go/forum/popup?output_method=iframe&base_url=http://community.betfair.com/service&type=forum&category=94166&xref=165814 |

^^ i know you were on this bet fella, so well done there, but you just made yourself look a bit silly tbh, sorry to p1ss on your bonfire, but of course a load of punters who get big wins give it all back, and some. not saying for one moment OP will do that, but thats the way of the world.

As the opening poster I did not make nearly as much as some who followed advice.
My heavy bet was on my perceived "Sure thing" with odds of only 4-1. This obliged so I am happy. I had some small bets on the "Great Value" prices and certainly made a few quid. Im not a pro Gambler and of course will continue to spar with the opposition. Its entertainment for me. NB Did anyone actually follow my advice on St Andrews and Hill o Beath ? |

i am more than happy with my poxy 4k

Luckily that £101k will probably be covered by your big-win exemption, Don, otherwise Hills would be having £60k of that back off you tomorrow. Congrats to all who were on, and especially well done to the OP.

There wont unfortunately be any obvious thrashings in a very evenly draw. EG Gala v Golspie is without doubt the worst 2 teams in the comp drawing each other.
