MALAY 23 Oct 11 10:09
The 80s for me was my fav hoops era as well, I wish I could walk into the jungle today. MALAY, do you remember who last occupied the jungle before it was dismolished? ![]() |

PS I'll have to put up some stories on the Baxter thread when I remember. Names you might not remember but all Celtic players he was pals with.
I have the two video's of his tributes when he died. Jimmy Johnstone could tell a few stories!!! (and was a very good friend) 14th april 2001, the very day I met mrs stew. |

I may be wrong, but I thought it was the huns, singing 'we'll sing the sash in the jungle'. Not imortant either way.

Stewarty the wolfe tones played a concert there after the cup match
blow away the blues party it was called celtic legends v man u, i think jinky ran the show |

You're probably right MALAY. As I said, it's of no importance.
Just as a matter of interest MALAY, apart from that 'Baxter' thread, how come I've never conversed with you before? I can't seem to remember you from any old firm thread? Maybe my memory isn't as sharp! Just as a matter of interest, Baxter was also a good friend of 'Bongo' Harley, a Celtic forward whom I had never heard of until Jinky mentioned him in Baxter's tribute. I was genuineley in tears when Jinky spoke about him. 40 million each in today's market. (nap) |
|
By:
Yes Stewarty quality of the highest standard, we wont see players like that again from Scotland.
|
|
By:
Did you program in them channels ok Malay ?
|
|
By:
Can you imagine both in the same team MALAY? With Murdoch, Grieg, Lennox, Brand, Wilson, Gemmell, etc. Fearsome.
|
|
By:
* beat any of this sh!t down south. A different era I know, but as Fergie said.....'in today's game, the would have found the pace'. Not that Baxter or Jinky would have needed it....

Celtic donate £10,000 to this years poppy appeal
Nice gesture from the board. Will the Green Brigade still be making up their mis spelt banner this year? |
|
By:
I don't think they will, there is no poppy on the jerseys this year, was that not their issue ?, havent really followed it, to be honest
|

As long as all the victims of British violence are equally remembered then their is no issue. Camerans recent comments about remembering Gadhaffis Ira victims was a little off what progress is trying to be made. He should also mention the victims of British and Loyalist violence and indeed mention and condemen where they get their weapons, oh yeah that's right they get them in Britain. I don;t think any Celtic fan holding banners have a problem with people remembering dead, the hypocrisy is sickening still when the shoe is on the other foot and they have a right to protest and point out these politics of lies that continually tarnish the names of good men who fought their corner against oppression. ... Hopefully they took it out of Samaras wage packet

Bangura out for 3 months now, Loovens out for 2 weeks, Commons injury recurring and out again, Hooper ans Samaras also injured to add to long term injuries of Izagheire, Wilson and Brown. It just keeps coming

Scott Brown
he's brutal, became a legend because he bullied the black guy(who didnt have a clue where he was) when he scored with his left peg, took him 15 minutes to wind the leg up, an embarrasment as a Captain of Celtic football club, (wish he'd have signed for his boyhood heroes) However, credit where it's due, he's apparantly great at dressing room pranks, the real joke though is the amount of money that was spend on his fee and current contract. If he wants to sign he pays the agent not us, he's trousering enough every month. |

I worked with a young English guy in early 1990's from milton keynes, his father was always abroad selling arms in middle east, the son was all set on joining british army but couldn't get his head around the irony, really affected his thinking. He used to say to me we're fighting against IRA yet my dad is supplying weapons in middle east, often wondered what happened to him.He was about 18/19.

look what we are without the Brown drive and passion , true he is not one of the Fans All Time Favorites but God we miss his bite if nothing else

Tonights team.
Forster; M Wilson, Rogne, Majstorovic, Matthews; Forrest, Kayal, Ki, Ledley; Hooper & Stokes subs: Zaluska, Wanyama, McCourt, El Kaddouri & Cha |
|
By:
Glad to see Rogne and Wilson back but Ki needs a rest, Wanyama could have played. Apart from that when you consider the amount of injuries it isn't a bad line up.
|
|
By:
If Rogne could keep fit, he could be the best CH.
Don't get playing a right back (Matthews) at left back and having the left back (El Kad) on the bench. Wanyama has been excellent recently, protects the defence well, and they need it when Dan is in there. Oh well, hopefully Hooper and Stokes do the business. |

Decent performance after the flukey Hibs opener.
Could have scored 3 or 4 easily in the 1st half and took the foot off the gas with 20 mins to go. Still, onwards and upwards. At least we haven't been knocked out of 3 tournaments so early in the season, like some other mob i could mention. ![]() |

briggie u go to all games i dont, does lennon go?
|
|
By:
bhoys,i think everyone is entitled to their opinion on the manager. As you say i go to all the games home and away and Europe and see them in the flesh for 90 mins.He is very naive on tactics and team selection is baffling sometimes.A few examples 1)mark wilson on bench for 3/4 games at a time then comes back as captain very strange.A captain should be your leader on the park and the first name on the sheet.2)Mr Mulgrew right leg for standing on and always has to go to outside to clear.3)Has too much faith in certain players when clearly their form or more importantly ability does not merit place in side see no 2.Overall a change of manager would not be the worst decision by the board, but will be expensive as lennon has 3 assistants to get paid off as well.
