Very witty? Jesus H Christ,I can see you're not well-read. His column is basically a list of primary school jokes, then some not even disguised seething about anyone higher up the table than LFC, then some awful tipping the guy is just about the luckiest man alive, a complete wank-stain who has somehow landed a cushy job talking **** and being awful at his professed 'career'. |

It's Spain v Portugal tonight and we know how it will pan out.
Portugal won't get out of their own half, Spain won't get out of first gear and Ronaldo won't stop looking in the mirror. Ronaldo is favourite to be voted player of the tournament, despite being invisible for the first half of it. The Portuguese ladyboy had a stellar season with Real Madrid, where he scored a zillion goals and that takes some doing because that Stella's strong stuff. There's no greater admirer Ronaldo than Ronaldo but he has a track record - in fact a flat-track record - of going missing when stakes are highest and I won't hear of defeat for Spain tonight. The holders are 10-11 to win in 90 minutes and I will be surprised if they don't. Hills offer 7-2 for Spain to have more than 65 per cent of possession tonight and I'm all over that like a man possessed. What an absolute mug he is.talks nothing but bóllox. |

i happen to know derek very well and had the pleasure of working with him too
he is very witty, imo, and a very original and a decent guy with a good wife sure his tips are mainly poor but he's one of the best tabloid journalists i've read i really don't get where all this invective - and worse - comes from if you're losing, don't take it out on Del Boy. Some very sad, jealous individuals on here. I'll happily rail against the imposters and inadequates who regularly clog up the top jobs within our sporting media, if they're not up to it and are deserving of criticism. Tommo being no1 on the hit lit, but McGovern doesn't deserve such scorn.

I bought a dog from the ironmonger. First thing he did when I got him home was make a bolt for the back door! Get on the draw in the Austria Germany match tomorrow at 9/2. i promise you, having been a journalist for many years myself (though more of a broadsheet type persuasion than derek) the job he does could not be done by anyone, indeed he does it to a very high level and very few could do it as well as he
