Rhys Williams, he was quality for burnley in defence but gareths just brought him on for digard playing him centre midfield. Must think he can do the same as Bates lol maybe he can he's a good player.

well up against millwall we really shouldnt be having too many problems, our real worry is EXACTLY the same as last season, how are we going to score goals.....i just dont know.....Rhys Williams though has come into 7/2 for championship topscorer ;)

Like the thread lads.
I went to the Oldham game and we were crap - this league is really gonna find some of those players out. Williams looked rubbish in defence but much better in mfield doing the simple stuff. walker looked like he wanted to be somewhere else and alliadiere was well alliadiere!!! Wheats, jonno and yeates look like the only ones who know what it is about. Coyne talks a bit better than Jones. Defence should be ok but attack is woeful. |

thats all he ever said, i hope he realised, that its utter sh!t we dont want to leave this game with defeat, even though its a friendly, im a big believer in confidence, so i want at least one goal in the 2nd half well cant argue at least we didnt lose, an unbeaten pre season :) |

I say bring back the wolfman - I've been following since mid-80s and bernie was the best striker we've ever had. He just knew how to score, simple as that. Whoever pulled Yeates out of the bag must know of a similar type of player lower down the leagues.
O'neil is qulaity for me - can't believe he'll still be there come end of august. Saw the lads at Macc as well and Digard looked**ed off to be playing - he's another who could be going imho. Nevermind there's still the geordies to laugh at... Laters sniper |

Yeah end of august could be a problem...
O'neil would be a big loss i didnt use to rate him but in the 2nd half of last season was one of a few who kept trying. I'm not the biggest fan of Digard not convinced he's that good tbh plus i remember him saying he was using boro as a stepping stone! the cheek!! so if he goes I'm not too fussed. personally think i'd go for o'neil and rhys for friday, should be a good balance with johno and yeats on the wings. Then obvs just the striker to think of.... who would you like us to be looking at gary? striker wise that is.. |

well with the midfield i doubt youll be to wrong with that, just aslong as everyone playing is 100% commited to the game
striker wise, well i shudder just thinking about, i expect to see emnes and aliadiere, i would say its almost certain, but its just not good enough, even if for some odd reason we signed someone this week, they wouldnt play anyway |

I worry about the sort of striker were going to bring in GS obv wants the right mentality as he always gone on about it, which is fair enough... but i'd like to see him take a punt on someone like lita maybe?? i think he's still on a free... so would cost no money, dont know about his attitude but definately has the talent was top of the bill for england U21's when he was under 21 must only be about 23 now.. However, id put a lot of money that GS would not be interested lol Also if he buys rob hulse, who weve been linked with many a time i might start supporting darlo lol |

The thing with Lita is, i hear that he has about 5 agents and so sorting deals for him is very awkward, thats what Sheff Utd have said, as they were interested, shame though as he is a good striker especially for this league i just feel even if we are going to get someone it wont be until august 31st :( we need to look seriously this week to making some moves |

5 agents hmmm how strange probably not the best signing then defo not for GS. My mate supports Forest and they have like 6 strikers all of about the same quality which is a joke as well although i'd take earnshaw! I've just thought of it...... get DANNY GRAHAM back, lol at least he could clean the riverside's windows either. |

well Earnshaw, cant do any worse than im expecting aliadiere to do, i just wish we could get the likes of a Kevin Phillips, or like a Zane Scotland, but ofcourse those two arent possible i will though be checking SSN website everyday after work though :) |
