Tuncay! Be loving him, will our Gary! Afternoon ewok :) well, i might not be his biggest fans but while hes hearing, i want to see effort, and today in all fairness, he brough just that wasnt the greatest game today, but a comfortable win, and a goal for Leroy top of the league - Magic !! |
By:
I had 2-0 aswell mate, i just really liked the look of it
By:
Well done guys on getting 2-0 scoreline bang on.
I won on goals under 2.5 (see 12.23 post) I see Gary O'Neill is having his operation on Tuesday, so should be ready for Ipswich at home on the 12th Sept. Also means he is very unlikely to be sold. I's like to see us sign a central midfielder. I don't rate Shawky and Josh Walker is not ready. Neither have been even on the bench yet? |
By:
hi analyst
im not sure where josh is, and shawky is plain useless, nice beton unders, never looked anything elkse even though there were 2 goals, Gary may still leave but i guess this limits his chances we just need to get alves out cos at least atm tuncay iis bringing something whilst here, alves isnt |
By:
I don't think we'll be looking to by a new one.
Arca will play till back from injury, as I think he only misses Bristol C away if going under the knife now. Josh Walker is agood player, reminds me of young Cattermole, but without the baggage. |
By:
Whatever squad we have come 2nd Sept, I think that'll be it for the season.
Lets say we have Tuncay and come 1st Jan, we are 2nd in the league, 3pts ahead of play offs. Is Tuncay going to leave for a midtable side in the Prem? Is GON going to do similar? I doubt that very much. If there's a chance of Premiership football, you can see majority of our squad being here. |
By:
Tuncay/Huth/Wheater included.
There's just one problem that I can see...Jinky is free to talk to other clubs from the 1st Jan 2010. |
By:
3 relegated sides despite newcastles obvious problems off to fliers in this tough league.
By:
I don't agree with all this "It's a tough league to get out of!"
If you have a few players of quality, you're 90% of the way there. |
By:
newcastle fans still sound so negative (not saying you mtoto) i dont understand it, you look awesome
i expect the three relegated teams to fill them 2 promotion spots ewok, Tuncay will be gone by sept 1st..........100% |
By:
i'm very negative. taylor , colocinni and jonas all away next week apparently. where does that leave us. when i said tough league i meant "tough league"
By:
Good news on Emnes - only mild concussion
I suspect the club are looking to ship out Shawky so has not played, but played for Eygpt. Walker could be a future Cattermole, but he was out of his depth last season. Not bothered much about Forest game on Tuesday, but Bristol City away wil be a big game on Saturday. I hope we sell out. |
By:
Agree mtoto2
I think you're squad is good, but thin. Lose a few players and your threadbare, and you don't have a youth system to rely on like we can. |
By:
already relying on it.
By:
Good news Analyst.
Emnes & Lita striking up quite a partnership, looked bright before had to come off. |
By:
im pleased about that analyst, cos he took quite a hit
tbh though ewok, i dont think theyve impressed to much so far, theyve looked lightweight, but as the teams doing well and now lita has scored, i see them getting better |
By:
Depends on how we play. We don't need effing giants to get out of this league.
Lita can hold it up now and then, and Emnes attribute is his pace and directness. The way GS goes on about utilising these two, you're looking at our strikeforce for the season. |
By:
i agree, that will be our strike force and so far weve looked good without them doing much, which is a good sign, but well probably need to add another striker, aliadiere cant do it
By:
Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate:
"We have set high standards in the opening few games and if we want to get back up where we want to be as a club then we must stick to them. "We had long spells of possession and maybe did not make that count as much as it should. "We still need to tighten up, stay focused and work hard. That said, it is nice to be top." |

boro = crap kit and no charisma ... unlike the MIGHTY TANGERINES!!!
By:
High spirits on teeside now :) All me mates are buzzing, it's wierd!
By:
not weird at all .winning is a nice scenario which hasn't been experienced in a long time. true fans realise there IS life outside top flight. always has been always will be.
By:
Great stuff wev, me and mine too, 3 wins in 3, and without even looking to good, we have a real shout of promotion
wild guess - i like blackpool, so please shut up, i wouldnt want some pr!ck to make me think less of them |
By:
exactly mtoto
there are still people saying its sh!t outside the prem, and im not going to watch this league but you have to move on and appreciate the level were at as the championship is still decent, especially when your winning scunny on tuesday was fantastic, 2,200 fans small ground 0-2 win....Perfect ! :) |
By:
Not a boro fan but defo not a Southgate fan (I think everything thats wrong with football is letting unproven managers sign multi million pound players and try to gain respect - Let the real world prevail and work your way up based on results/performances) - What do Boro fans think? Would you rather miss out on promotion & get rid of Southgate or gain promotion & have another year of tactical ineptness.
By:
think you lot will walk that league this season and if you can strengthen at all ..skys the limit
By:
Fk all wrong with Southgate, wasn't last year neither.
Players didn't play for him, and you've seen the results. 8 new players in the starting XI. Downing going was a big plus for Boro. |
By:
mumm - ra
tbf thats not a difficult answer and im sure you can understand boro fans havent been happy with southgate for a long time, but as we didnt sack him last season when we shoudl have, we might aswell keep him now, and tbf he has had a good start to the season |
