My personal favourite is the shenaigans over the Next Newcastle Manager Market over the past few years and how they were going to settle it. Eventually led to the 10 match rule regarding caretakers being adopted.

And an honourable mention to our dear departed thread,

"Oh dear...Poyet odds on ffs"

Havent read all posts, so apologies if mentioned already, but the Money Saving 'Experts' laying all first goal scoreers was one of my all time favourites

The day that a "planned upgrade" was delayed for three hours, meaning that lots of people were left with horrendous books as it clashed with a brilliant climax to the ODI between India and Sri Lanka

yes the Indai v SL one was a classic.

I think that co-incided with a lot of people talking about leaving the site.

Hopefully those days are long gone now - I mean a company cant expect its only assets (clients) to stay with them when this sort of rubbish happens can they?

LOL - will these .... ever learn? NOPE

The time someone hacked into the site and put bets up at odds greater than 1000
can anyone confirm that this is true?

My all time favourite was the Bayern Munich game that ended 2-2 but 2-2 had been missed of the correct score market.

Absolute meltdown.

It was true. I saw it with my own eyes. It was a cunning plan let down by one major drawback- everyone else could still only lay at a maximum of 1000 :^0

What about that time someone put up around £1 million on the favourite greyhound some afternoon when the race had a £100 first prize.

Have to agree with Mary Chain though, the Carling Cup Final when the Money Saving Expert Forum were all laying the first goalscorers was the all time classic . They were all convinced they were going to win fortunes then once the rules were explained they all started to work out the huge liabilities they had amassed

great moment for me was horse race a year or 2 back at windsor when commentator was calling wrong horse home. There was forum meltdown as all the people who had tried buying money at 1.01 where stung bigtime. Still makes me laugh now
By:

When: 15 Dec 09 15:07
there was a similar one to that when the favourite was announced as having fallen and was laid at all prices up to 1000, when it was actually his stable mate who had gone down and the favourite romped home.
By:

The one at windsor was funny because believe it or not i was watching race thinking that the horse he was calling was wrong yet all i did was sit there and not make any money at all lol

My mate couldn't believe the in running price of Idle Talk at Cheltenham a few years back and laid the ar5e out of it, and kept laying it, convinced it wasn't winning and that some mug was asking for the wrong price.
He realised that Betfair had introduced place market in running betting as it crossed the line in 3rd.

4/5 years ago now if memory serves me right.....Real Madrid 1-0 up, Benzema scored an offside goal, Sky coverage assumed 2-0, commentators not at ground, plenty matched on 1-0 at 1000s, game ended 1-0.

A few days later, Mexico Youth vs South Korea or Japan iirc, very similar situation......Mex 1-0 down, went 2-0 down, 4/5 mins left, goal chalked off, Eurosport coverage never picked up the offside flag or foul, stadium scoreboard still had 2-0..... Mex equalise, comms were chatting complete drivel etc...complete meltdown across numerous markets....IIRC comms were bigging up the winners, then ET started...Cry

A more recent one being BFs outrageously pathetic attempt to run a Match Odds & BTTS market, without an option for the draw and either team winning to nil....Laugh

Then when every Tom, Dick and Harry was massive green on all 8 Champions League games the following night, voiding the fekking lot....The old "application of an incorrect exposure algorithm" chestnut....Plain

MSE League Cup final was THE classic. That moment when realisation set in was priceless.

One that hasn't been mentioned was the November Hcp in 2006. Someone backed a horse down to 1.01ish IR as the stalls opened.

They and their slippery fingers knew!

The horse, Group Captain, went on to win. I can't remember who admitted to it, but it was a forum regular I believe.
