Whatever you think of the rides given to the runner up and Ahoy Senor there is no doubt that Pic D'Orhy ran to his true mark . By my reckoning that means Sail Away ran 12 lb better than his previous best . Now the o/h will not give him that as he has to cover up the gaff made with the winner but he should put him up a little . If Sail Away got 2lb extra he might just come into the National reckoning as he is an improver and unexposed . An extra 4lb would be better .
Kilbeg King , like the ill fated Hermes Allen , did nothing for the Kauto Star form .
