Mohoric is busting it out, cooking himself, the winner of today's stage is in the main chasing group of some 40-odd.
By:
Too big a group and this climb will allow some attacks, thinning things out.
By:
Laying Mohoric at 12s and 10s, he is riding on fumes and in MSR this season he was dropped from the main peloton.
By:
The chasers will make it across to Mohoric, no doubt about it, and he might be capable of sticking in the group, but he will be empty for the sprint or eventual attacks. Too young and inexperienced to get the better of these others.
By:
On the GC: Obviously SUN looked quite poor yesterday, look tired and lazy today, also. This is likely to be a factor in the coming days, but not sure the extent.
By:
10-man chasing selection making it across now to Mohoric, he might be able to stick with them for a little while.
By:
Still a big bloody breakaway group, and it really requires a major selection of committed riders before trying to pick the winner.
By:
Cannot pick a winner out of this breakaway group.
By:
Understand Costa being fav -- he has support, has been involved previously, and has already won this season. Honest type when in form.
By:
Too short at 5s with some liquidity, there looks like there's still a lot to happen in this breakaway. Peloton making some time back, but won't be enough once things kick off in the break, into a more selective group.
By:
Mohoric, not only in the group, but on the front burying himself for Costa...
By:
A trader might have done something special here, but in terms of picking a winner outright, it is very difficult.
By:
Mohoric pops, at least got some green lay from him.
By:
Attacking riding in the break, finally. 15kms out.
By:
This road is burn town in the province of lactic;-)
By:
No bets for me but I'll Devenyns -- he is a hard rider & you need a real hard man quality to win this, I think.
By:
Rolland looks to have pinched this!
By:
Good win by Rolland, reached out for it. Boring stage, tomorrow should be much better.
By:
Dumoulin is quite short for me. I know he won a mountain stage a few days ago. But it was just 1 long climb at the end of the stage. Today is different. 4 climbs and a bit steeper.
Hes 4th in the betting order. I |

Stuck in work for the day so going to struggle to watch live coverage. Hopefully someone here will keep me updated !!

Anacona & Amador in the break for Movistar. GC teams chasing at the front of the peloton instead of Sunweb, should mean some early excitement.
Currently Orica riding after taking over from Bahrain. Protecting Yates' top 10 or setting him up to go early? |
By:
Peloton down to 30 riders already. They are going to be all over the road soon.
By:
Nibali has talked himself up for this stage 19. He will attempt another big descent, but the final climb of about 10kms may perhaps be too long for him to hold.
ORS doing work in making the race hard is indicative of a top-10 and White Jersey for Yates, I think CJ. After his crash, it's all about a soft-gloves approach with him by the team, looking to the future by building his confidence as a GC rider with baby steps or clear targets. By pressing him into a stage win and should he fail, his confidence might be compromised. |
By:
Movistar on the front of the peloton, looks like its about to KO.
Not fancying the break at the moment. |

Worked for Yates, Jungels dropped.
By:
Just wondering if the depleted peloton might not be a bonus for a Nibali attack on the final descent? I guess it would be close to a head-to-head battle then, between him and probably Quintana attacking remnants of peloton GC group.
By:
Polanc too, I think, also gone. Very thin peloton.
By:
Sounding like a very interesting stage. Pre tel where is dumoulin?
By:
Formolo still with Yates, Polanc dropped on previous climb so he'll be down minutes.
Movistar have messed this up again, Quintana isolated after pushing the peloton. Dumoulin in peloton. |
By:
LONG RANGE!
By:
He better have Amador still up front otherwise he's going to fry in the valley. Anacona still up at the front of the race.
By:
Long range X 2. Nibali off down the road.
Dumoulin on the front of the peloton. |
By:
Bloody hell. Early attack !!
By:
Nibali and Quintana reach Anacona, Amador and Tsuitsou. Dumoulin drags the peloton back up.
Movistar must be great to play poker against. |
By:
ORS still working, so maybe stage victory is on the cards for Yates.
By:
...Working with one rider and Yates on, it should be said.
By:
Maybe just use up Plaza in case Jungels guns it down the descent.
I can't see anyone else dropped from the main group. |
By:
Surprised Plaza still has something to offer, looked to boiling over when dropping off the break.
By:
I like this from Dumoulin, he didn't have the head for it before.
