Nibble on the draw at 38.
Sun is coming out. If...big if... Webster survives then I can see Aus scraping to 300 and this is a road. Possible rain tomorrow, possible thunderstorm Friday late. The 3 days of sun on an easy paced Lords pitch The only thing is if it looks like rain it will swing. Oh my Lord. Still swinging! The sun is out however and batting will become easier |
|
By:
I'd go along with that for a bit of value WD , we know Australia hate drawing games but this is a World final so not to lose is a far bigger player than is normal.
|
|
By:
Hi Haden,
No it is a Hail Mary low stakes play tbf but if you get in on this when the sun is out you can score runs. Short square boundaries and a slope. There are some good bowlers on display in this match so you would fancy a result, however the pitch may not deteriorate too badly. My main concern is that if it looks like rain the ball will swing. Tomorrow will be crucial to my bet. |
|
By:
This will be interesting. Maharaj. The pitch is a little dry underneath.
|
|
By:
Smith will be furious with himself and should be as am I and my bet!
|
|
By:
Nothing wrong with a hail Mary now and again WD at those prices as it's such an unpredictable sport at times.
You're just about the top Cricket judge on here so we'll all continue to take note i'm sure ![]() |

Its gone South but was worth a go. I was hoping for Carey and Webster to bat on into the final session, which, would have made things interesting. Quite enjoying the game though. Rabada is one of my favourite bowlers along with Bumrah of course. Shall be attending on Friday so there is a good chance of seeing him in action. I remember him yorking Malan, was watching live from behind the bowlers arm

|
By:
Not sure i could name many that would have kept that one out.
I know he failed today but i'm a massive fan of Aiden Markram , yet to see him live which i must address. |

Great value bet WD.

Betting the draw and game will be over in 3 days. Dear God WD didn't even think you could get it so wrong. I want it to absolutely pour down for you. Really concerned that you have spaffed up another boatful cash or should I say a thimbles worth as you surely haven't much left.

Here he is!
Crickets greatest pundit " Captain Hindsight " aka Try My Best. Always too busy to comment BEFORE a cricket match as he is too busy dodging soap. |
|
By:
Hayden,
Glad I will see Rabada bowl tomorrow morning. He is one of the greats imho. Even the pundits on tv cannot work out what is going on. The pitch is not a mine field. I think the Dukes ball may have an extra coating of laquer. There is still plenty of swing even in the sunshine with an old ball. The pitch itself is low and slow. I do believe if SA apply themselves they can win this tomorrow. The pitch is not getting worse. Could be a great finish! I am glad I got a ticket for tomorrow. |

Great trading in the Scot vs Dutch ODI today , Scots just about to lose after 1.02 matched.
I'm envious WD so enjoy tomorrow , has the makings of a climax when you'd want to say i was there ![]() |

Good lad WD. Please keep putting your money up on here with your ridiculous bets. Don't go I beg you. Listen, I know you're not a bad lad and have a very enjoyable day watching proper cricketers. Hope you are not one of those nasty old fart members dressed up like a deck chair falling asleep and then insulting our great players in the Long Room. Betting the draw though!!!. Best one yet. I will pray for rain for you over the next 72 hours. If you need a few quid to get by by let me know. ADVANCE AUSTRALIA FAIR.
|
|
By:
I have plenty of money thanks TMB. Suggest you buy some soap with your pennies, you are stinking the place out Captain Hindsight.
No comment on the cricket? Just here to take the pith sad little man. You think Australia are going to win? care to post your bets? Or are you a typical BMW? |
|
By:
Only one thing that stinks the place out on here and that's your betting record lad. It's truly terrible. I can feel some rain in the air tonight. Please God save WD from himself and let it pour with rain. Do not want to see him go as it's a licence to print money. Have a great day tomorrow lad and don't forget your SA flag.

Not too late to put some more on the draw. It's only 710/1 now. Pile in Whispering.

Methinks you are getting very hot under the collar junior. You should be apologising to the sheep on here who think you are some kind of a cricketing judge. You are a moron who knows squat about cricket. I know you have done your money as always and can understand your despair and its very humiliating for you when you post so much crap but enjoy the day tomorrow. Pack your sausage rolls, egg sandwiches and your can of shandy and have a great day. Going to be hot tomorrow so don't forget your string vest and knotted handkerchief.

A pleasing sight elis , magnificent knock on such an important stage
![]() Great test match and thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish , compulsive viewing. Takes two teams and although Australia hate finishing 2nd in anything they're a great side and always the team to beat. Hope you had a great day WD also hope i haven't jumped the gun with the congrats ![]() |

I am not sure Try My Best knows how much costs at Lords.
£34 including plastic ‘ glasses Gosh I wish I knew a little more about cricket |

MARKRAM INNGS ONE OF THE BEST PROPER TEST INNGS FOR YEARS ID SAY

Hope you had a great day WD. Beautiful day to watch the great game and it's been a good game to watch. SA worthy winners of this game and whoever batted on day 3 was going to win. Only ourselves to blame as we were in prime position going into the second innings and should have nailed our advantage home. Pitch did nothing today in alarming contrast to days 1 and 2. Thems the breaks in sport and it's about time the great cricketing nation of SA have something to show for their efforts. It's been a hell of a long time coming. Off to Royal Ascot next week in my private box lad. You think Lords is expensive. Will send you a tip to replenish your cricket losses.

Captain Hindsight strikes again!

By:
Yes, what an aftertimer!
|
|
By:
Well done WD, you called it
|
|
By:
Thanks driver and I backed SA after watching Starc and Hazlewood both play with absolute confidence in the morning. This is hopefully going to be the second highest ( equal ) chase at Lords behind only Gordon Greenidge’s charge to 342-1 in 1984 and I was at that Test too!
The pitch was always good or rather easy paced and flat and that makes it more of a batting time rating than fast scoring pitch. |
|
By:
Great day yesterday btw
Big day for South Africans and plenty of them in the Grandstand. Excellent atmosphere. It was actually quite moving when well lubed they stuck up the band and sang en masses Nkosi sikilel iAfrica in the Grandstand. I have never heard anything like that at Lords. Good for cricket and for sport. |
|
By:
It seems a bit odd to have 2 southern hemisphere teams at Lords but it has been a great watch. SA need to get going again soon or they might face a new ball. Hopeful review there!

I thought I heard something!
It doesn’t matter now! Castled! KP talking Aussie chances up but I cannot see it. |
|
By:
Bad technique from Stubbs. Left arm round, wide on the crease and He is facing straight down the wicket and his front foot is still in line with the stumps when it hits.
