They need to bat two days Johnny to stand a chance and then they need to pray for rain on Sunday.

The pitch will be good today. Is they cannot bat 25 -30 overs and see of the new ball then it might finish sooner than later.

The pitch should be good today. They have no excuses. If they score 500 or close they have some sort of chance as the pitch may become tricky but we are used to being 30-3 and 40-4. The openers need to blunt the new ball to have a sniff of a fighting chance. The Aussie attack is quite formidable. Need 3 centuries Root, Stokes and maybe Hameed. Who else will stand up to the plate. Might be a good opportunity for Malan. He has the skills but needs some luck. Not looking good but we need to show some fight.

I like Chapelli,

I know he was rude about the Queen and had to run across a car park to save himself from a good kicking from Beefy but he does know his cricket!

Is there a monsoon on the way? I was pleased to lay off some draw at 11s, but now I'm feeling like I might have been cheated!

Oh how I love trading Test cricket! I've just gone from a horrendous loss to a modest profit on all outcomes.

Had a similar situation with the Bangers/Pakistan match - was facing a horrendous loss but ended up with a sizeable win.

Annoying that BF rarely feature the various A-team games or other lesser-known multi-day matches.

Not wishing ill on another human bean Brent but he is crucial to Australia’s chances not just in this match but the whole series. Once the realisation that Aus are a bowler down the batsmen yet to come will be feeling a lot bettter. They have 30 overs odd of the new ball tomorrow to negotiate but after that the pressure is all on Australia and they do not like it up’em as we all know.

India scored 329 odd batting last but we don’t have a Risahb Pant. The pitch will get slightly more uneven tomorrow but we get the roller first thing.

The game and the series in the balance already. Even if we lose this game there will be a new found confidence.

Quite a long way to go

There might well be cloud on Sunday and that is also a game changer. Might have an ideal situation where all three results are possible.

yep, agree with that WD, my guess is he can bowl but maybe a bit sore and those areas as Jimmy A knows are dodgy areas..

I am not so sure the draw should be shorter than England or perhaps so much shorter.

England also have 11 overs to plat themselves in before the new ball.

Quite a Test Match and a great wicket. How much will it deteriorate on Sunday and will it be cloudy when Aussie bat? I think it will!

England still have a lot to do
By:
Whisperingdeath
When: 10 Dec 21 07:38
I think it should be tighter because the pitch here is so good. Can’t say what will happen in the morning or with the new ball but if we are still standing at lunch then anything could happen.

I'd resigned myself to a healthy dose of sleep & gearing up for the day-nighter next week but very pleased I'll be missing out again tonight.

Caught up on the thread. Match has great potential from here, can't wait.

now hold up England..WTF y'all at..trying to make a game of this or smth, innit?

we are too accustomed to false dawns. We need to luxuriate in the glorious sunset of a saved test from the jaws of humiliating defeat.
But dinnae hold your breath as collapses are the norm rather than the exception
can we really see a cpl more stands of true stature?
we can live in hope
McG says day 4 should be even better for batting
but realistically we would need to bat till lunch day 5 to ensure we can't lose
that is a lorra, lorra balls to face
first hour and session will be critical
