Weather would be the only reason, as the ball and Englands frail looking batting order, could see England blown away for under 200. Woakes who is a fair batsman for no 8 and 9 where he's batted before, but he's not a no 7 for me

Without Gabriel and Joseph, the Windies look a very weak bowling attack. Only Holder and Chase likely to cause problems.

Amazed they left out Joseph

Absolute madness to leave Joseph out. He is a swing bolwer! More importantly The Cannon looked tight in the second test and not right at all. The batsmen Campbell and Hope have been short of runs so the decision is completely nonsensical.
England playing 5 seamers in a match likely to be affected by rain is also rather dumb imho. The ball is likely to have the advantage so it would have been better to carry the extra batsman. I like Woakes though and think he is technically one of England's better batsmen but he has been chosen as a bowler primarily. He is the first bowler to be dropped for the next Test again imho. I would like to see him concentrate more on his batting. I saw his big innings against India and he looked superb but like most he is vulnerable to extreme pace. The only way to get better against it is to face it in matches and practise more in the nets. He is not a first 4 bowling choice for England, certainly abroad and particularly on the sub continent. Both sets of selectors may walk out of this with honour intact because of the weather but they have come up short! |

The Cannons problems are in his head I think. 89MPH with a hamstring strain?
