I never understand people who back short odds straight after a wicket.
What's the get-out strategy if another wicket doesn't fall soon after?

the mostly likely time for a wicket to fall is immediately after a wicket has fallen

Oh Johnny!

Strong words!

Add to that I think England had a very lucky first two days with weather and chances. The cloud cover was in their favour Day 1 and to be fair they bowled superbly with the cross seam unlike the Aussie quicks who bowled seam up. Aussie knicked nearly everything that deviated and England caught everything.

One has to worry how limp the England attack may be when the sun is out. We need Archer I think to add something

They always assume the off spinner will be more dangerous against the left hander as he is taking the ball away from the bat but I think on these types of worn wickets it is usually the bounce that does people. Root just got a good one there, not much he could do. One had his name on it.

@ wondersobright - if that were true (and it would have to be true a large majority of the time at 1.3s to be more profitable than waiting a while), it still doesn't answer my question as to how long you run the trade before you take a loss on it - any ball could lead to another wicket so there's no right price to get out. I just have no idea how people sit comfortably backing short odds in these kind of situations.
