Increase umpire pay 5X and you will attract better candidates....something has to be done.

I suspect the ICC will operate like lots of other monopoly organisations and double-down by re-appointing one of these two and putting the other in the third umpire chair for the next test.

Aus in big big trouble! |

Looked out on first view.
Not saying these are the best Umpires but that was very difficult to see and so close difficult to hear. There is a difference between a mistake and a howler. Some people it would appear have never played the game if they think Umpires should be infallible. |

Not until tomorrow morning should England go past parity. |

Starc should have started

played in my youth thanks WD
this is the self-called "elite panel" of umpires who have already made more mistakes than what is acceptable in a 5 match series and its only day 2 of the 1st test |

The CricViz Analyst
@cricvizanalyst Rory Burns now has the highest score by a (specialist) England opener not called Alastair Cook in a home Test since Alex Hales' 94 against Sri Lanka at Lord's in 2016. #Ashes |
|
By:
bit of a contrived stat that one |
|
By:
How can you not call Roy a specialist opener

I'd like to know if Jimmy will bowl or not.
Selfish twàts at the ECB keeping mum |
|
By:
wouldn't even be sure that eng will go past aus's total
|

By:
Backed 325 this morning so looking hopeful but I laid 250 Australia yesterday

scottish football adverts, I bet people can't wait

By:
Why decide on Jimmy until after this innings? If England bat until tea tomorrow with 450 on the board, why risk him?
|
|
By:
Eng are never far away from an absolute stinker of a collapse
|
|
By:
122/1 you'd expect at least a 100 lead
But this is England so expect 122/1 to go to 150/6 and England being in disarray very quickly ![]() |
|
By:
They were confident he could bowl yesterday and look what happened. Don't want him out for the rest of the series.
|
|
By:
This is too easy WOW!

Burns has transformed into Brian Lara, top marks for the batting coaches!
