Curran's a bit like having a fancy winger in a footy team. You carry him for the occasional moment of brilliance

Anyone else think the IPL bought the wrong Curran?! Laugh I think Sam will go 100m

Tom's a genuis with his slower balls and his batting is improving.

He's been the best overseas in the BBL, not sure he is a test bowler either

We bowled 34 overs of mostly filthy spin. Curran was serving up gentle half volleys too. They have 3 quicks and the giant Holder. All of them will hit the deck hard. Tricky to call this, especially after that last ball from Stokes.

Good points. Holder is giant but mostly bowls fairly floaty stuff but he gets swing, which could be useful. Feels to me like a true surface England shouldn’t fall apart on but I’ve seen us bat before. If it breaks up, the giants could be very hard to play in the second innings too.

I think both will be excellent short format cricketers. Tom Curran will end up like David Willey. One over of swing at the start, but he's a far superior batsman

Sam is a better bat than bowler. How he got to take BOTH new balls was staggering.

Stokes swung it more than Jimmy.

Also they are mercurial, they can be dire at times if they aren't in the mood

Yeh he could bat in the top 6. However sometimes that extra pressure affects the way a player bats

It is becoming a torture to use this forum.

I went from 200 red to 20 red to 120 red again. Fk it. Most of mymoney tied at tennis outright or i'd have done my nuts proper on this game.

Look at Mooen, he plays much better at 7/8. Give him that extra responsibility and he fails spectacularly

Yeah, CurranS is a very exciting cricketer but we’ve basically picked a guy who’s a very fine lower order batsman with potential to bat higher up to bat at 9, when he’s not, in my view, a test standard bowler yet.

Agree about the Willey comparison. Neither are quick enough.

Saw Willey smash Sussex for a ton when he opened for Northants. That's going back a while. Not sure he knows himself what his best suit is.

and the Currans are short arses too, not great for a bowler

I have some indians at my university and frequently talk to them abt cricket. Sarfraz used the word 'kaale' which according to them is usual, though not something you'd want to be caught saying. Probably the equivalent of **** or paki.

Nasser says he spoke to the ump after play and the pitch has quickened. Also indentations in the pitch apparently

Was around mid 6s after the 7th wicket, then drifted rapidly to the mid 8s, without much more happening before the market corrected back down to 7s, then off again with the wicket. I’ve played it badly but was going well earlier so am still nicely placed.

Yeah. Wouldn’t trust the WI attack very far at all. As you’ve said in other posts, they have bad sessions and also England bat to 10. Difficult one to pick. Obviously I will hope for lower draw prices.
