The signals don't even have to be obvious. I think when Sreesanth was caught in the IPL, what he was doing was having his handkerchief hanging on the right instead of the left for the overs he was going to concede 13+ runs in. I spotted a signal yesterday as well. But I ignored it thinking Pak are playing straight. But that signal was before the wickets fell so it was just me being paranoid.

almost convinced the graphics man at the met office is on the make too.....im moody/hungover and every fooker is under suspicion today
 that hook shot from Sarfraz with 3 men back before lunch on day 2 was very suspect for me in this game....CS and i noticed the weird odds move too. i didnt see any play yesterday afternoon thinking job done i will go and watch the football  |

As for fixes, since it's a lot easier to instigate a fix that contributes to a team losing from a winning position than it is to cause an unlikely win from a losing position, intuitively it would seem to me that laying short odds should automatically benefit from fixes, provided the market prices at the time are "fair" and based only on the perceived state of the game (i.e. the fix is not widely known about). Maybe this is why cricket punters generally do well - less to do with sound judgement and more to do with the game being inherently bent!

Of course I have noticed. I am wondering whether I will have blown all this green on Tennis by the time the next test comes around. Sticking to outright market instead of indivisual games helps me lose less on Tennis.

I used to work with a guy who had given up gambling due to having a "problem" with it. He would still mention ricks he'd spotted in the High St but wouldn't ever bet on them. Whenever "The Sting" was mentioned in conversation he would not only remember the names of all the horses involved but would quote the odds as well!
