 v good!!if it was up to me bayliss would have gone after the ashes this team has gone backwards under him and his lack of a backbone to drop failing senior players is pretty incredible not talking about 1 or 2 tests with bad performances, I am talking about multiple series of constant failing |

i dont think they will, more likely to come out on Monday and play a shot a ball and then try to get at least 60 overs at them. Thats if it does rain for 3 days of course.

I think there will be gaps in the rain over the next 3 days. I can't find any forecast that just says 'rain' as a 100% certainty. So guess it's not one big front.

In that senario what is the draw price? evens? probably lower. i will be leveling up before then anyway but it will be interesting to see how the market reacts

As long as it's not a three-day non-stop mizzle-fest. Unfortunately the satellite imagery and the surface pressure map look to me like it IS one big front, but like Manuel "I know narrrthing".
The big question as far as trading is concerned is whether there will be play on Friday morning. |

It could well be a full days play today (I would be more confident of this if starting at traditional 11am) or it could be a total mizzle drizzle fest. It really is a lottery with the weather at the moment. Radar watching time and finger biting for many on the forum methinks.

It’s also one where even the radar can mislead because it isn’t so good at mizzle as it is at proper moving rain fronts. My best guess is a fair bit of play today on which basis the draw price is crazy short in a game this advanced but I already acted on that feeling by laying my draw green into red in the mid 5s at CoP so I’m only going to go beyond the £2k draw red I’ve reaccumulated if I’m pretty confident. There’s also the question of how excited the market will be if play starts on time and looks likely to go on for a while at least. I think that should get us up to 7 plus, especially if the game moves on quickly but I’m not sure how much time lost today (Fri NZ time) is priced in.

I have convinced myself that a draw lay in the high 4s is great value, even though I’m already red and even if I get stuck with it. That’s probably a plausible enough shot for 160-170 more overs (England would need to last over 100 overs) and I think we’ll get a lot nearer 200, if we need them.

I'm thinking your way too, with the caveat that NZ will bat slow when they do, but England will not last much past 250 runs at their second dig. That ball NZ had was swinging and moving quite nicely in the hands of Boult and Southee. Radar watching time it is.

I think there is plenty of time in the game. NZ will not declare unless the ball is hooping around. There could well be a full days pl;ay tomorrow and more on Monday at worst...worst so still plenty of time for a result but hopefully some rain panic too on Saturday and Sunday

Unless you’re looking further north than me, that’s at most some showers, unlikely to take a lot of play away. I think we get a lot of cricket today and it could even be almost all over tonight, if say NZ all out in 50 or so overs and England lose three or four before the close. I’ve got a couple of small backs in to take draw red down near zero set up in the 6s but I’m very tempted to move them up or out. Having said that, does have the feel of a test where keeping yourself fairly even green and light on your feet to be able to react is likely to be a good thing.

there's a band that's currently over kaitaia,its slow moving but it looks like its heading towards Auckland, its coming more from the North west, but i agree at the moment its looking good for some play.
