Must be some dodgy weather about looking at the draw.

Game is at tiny Eden Park Auckland btw, a drop in pitch and a day nighter, not the ingredients for a draw but the sharp move on draw tells me rain will be a threat.

There’s rain on NZ met every day but not all that much. I’m surprised the draw has come in that much and got my lays at higher prices but I did manage a lay of NZ at 2.6 and back of the draw at 5.1 a few days ago so am okay. Think it must be another lay at 4, really.

The draw move is all at expense of NZ with Eng stable.

Too bad there are only 2 tests Sad last time Eng were down there it was 3 match series...Test Match Cricket is the GOAT for sports traders.

annoyed i have missed this draw plunge, i had a look at the weather two days ago and could see a lot of rain but i was put off by the fact that its a day nighter and England just don't do draws. Cry

met office just updated. Looks worse than before. Showers upgraded to periods of rain. No wind forecast either so could sit over the ground. Seen it before in Auckland where just a steady drizzle wipes out a whole day

Still think very good chance of no more than minor interruptions to play and some bowling on a juicy track under leaden skies. I’ll even take more draw lay further down if we see 3.3 or so pre play but this feels like a test with a lot of trading to be done.

Draw now tradng at lowest point, I have a good position here but one weather update could wipe it all out, esp if I'm asleep when it appears.

From what I can tell from NZ weather reports, the "worst" of it is expected Sat/Sun, by which time there could have been a serious clatter of wickets on what is reported to be quite a green top...yes, there may be some rain delays Thurs/Fri, but I'm going to take on the draw early doors at these prices and look to back the draw as/when it drifts out on wickets on D1 and D2...

Reminder to everyone:- at midnight on Thursday night/Friday morning we also have the final Sheffield Shield match which is a five-day match, so may provide trading opportunities similar to a Test if enough liquidity is there, with an additional caveat being that the hosts (Queensland) only have to draw (or tie) to win the title.

It a horrific forecast http://www.metservice.com/towns-cities/auckland/auckland-central#!/ten-day not surprised we have sub 3 on draw.   A draw train would be lovely coz I can sleep much of it out and wake up fresh for Saffer Aus 3rd test while knowing I am guaranteed a green.

This is how I’m playing it too. I am very draw red now though (over £5k) and looking for another lay at 2.8, so a solid batting start for either side on a wicket that does less than expected and I could be staring right down the barrel. This may sound optimistic but the bit of the forecast that’s the best chance to be accurate is for decent weather the first two days of the test. With the swing bowling on offer and the (lack of) quality of the batting we could have a very advanced game before a drop of rain interrupts play. If not, I’m going to hope for less rain than the forecast suggests.

Remember how short the draw went before play and more so during that game at Hamilton last year? I think foregoing a pre-match position in the hope of quick wickets is quite likely to lead to a much better entry-point some time before the night session. Last thing I want is to get it wrong and end up repairing damage from the outset for the next few days whilst trying to trade another match in a different time-zone.
