im heavily into the draw now, stupidily trusting the forecast maybe

Hmm, now looks to me that there’s a sharp shower initially and some lighter and more intermittent stuff behind it but that it could all be enough to keep them off for most of the day by the time a wet outfield is accounted for. I’ve got back down to just £5.4k draw red though.

I think you’re good for a trade somewhere in the high 3s, perhaps lower. That’s what’s I’m now after, although I’m keeping the red.

I’m abandoning most of my venture and very pleased to see a lump of cash at 4.1.

the radar doesn't stretch that far on the western side. You can't see what's coming on that side due to the invisible borders on the radar.
Does that make sense?

yes it does, i am so pleased  i trusted the forecast,  they actually say on then website that the text forecast is the most accurate and that hasnt changed all day.

I don’t think it’s all hitting.

I know what you mean about the radar borders. The biggest thing I’m struggling with is exactly what angle the rain is coming in from: a few degrees difference is between a thick band of heavy rain and a somewhat thinner and less biblical bit.

While computer generated forecasts are useful, the model that produced the 2-hourly graph today is just one of a number of resources used by our meteorologists and can differ from their analysis, presented in the text forecast at the top of the page. In the event that these differ, please use the text forecasts produced by MetService meteorologists.

You can beat the text forecast through reading the radar well but as I haven’t, I’ll not push the argument too far. It’s very difficult to do more than an hour out, is the problem. I was trying to be too clever.

Well done on jucel. I’m trying to get flat at 4s now. Will leave me a nice green on England still.

For sure and more expertise in using them. Doesn’t mean they’re never wrong but as I say, I was trying to be too clever.

What sort of screen are you using? I've got a large 4k monitor and it looks to be hitting flush

An ipad. Plus I’ve already been totally wrong about it. I’ve got it hitting pretty hard too now. I’ve gone draw green with prices as far down as 3.85 and may accept lower.

I’ve got back up again now. Will suffer tomorrow but no useful football to bet on and probably won’t do too much more in SA Aus test.

Something else to bear in mind - the radar only shows actual rainfall that is already taking place, not what's about to form if there are suitable conditions, hence the "suddenly appearing out of nowhere" that seems to catch a lot of people out. At least the forecast tries to predict that this will happen.

3.00 local time: Oh that rain. It started off as a spoilsport, went on to spice up the proceedings, perhaps even made some of the English homesick and then went on to ruin the outfield. But then, thank the 58-collapse, it's made sure that there's enough time in the game to cover up for an innings that never practically happened. But here's the news for today - it's bright, it's sunny and there's no sign of that dreaded pitch cover around.
