I wonder how many listened to that and wished they hadn't bothered? Just false hope, they didn't even get close to 250.

A 'victory' now would be to avoid a whitewash. They have ended up being well beaten and made it easy for Australia to forget about their own collapse.

Basically, throughout the side they haven't got players with the ability to occupy the crease long enough to earn the right to play some shots.

All they can do now is shuffle a poor pack. Root bats three and Bairstow four but that's about it. Vince must be just about the worst number three in test cricket. He got that initial fifty but did anyone really think that would be repeated over and again?

Shameful (again) that Bairstow is left with the tail. 7 is too low, 8 was ridiculous.

He averages 39 in 47 Tests with 3 tons and 17 50s. He'd have more tons if he could consistently bat higher.

bairstow is a front line bat for sure, I'm just not sure how keen the management are to have him batting as high as 4 as could be fielding for a day and a half and then be batting in 2 overs knowing the english batting

How many of the Aussie team would get into the Pomms side Injera lmfao. You lot know nothing about the great game. Another shambolic performance by a dreadful English side. Truly embarrassing and I'm loving every minute of this one sided affair.
