Latham is at least leaving rather than edging balls on a fifth / sixth stump line this innings. So far anyway.

It's just gone a mile. The Betfair app is rubbish for Aussie markets so don't quite know when it did it but just had my 7s and my 6.4s gone in a few moments. Should have been greedier.

Oddly bounced back up to 6.4-7. My next few are 5.8, 5 and 4.4. I may drop them all a greedy notch or two. Thing for draw lays on this track, with the new ball doing pretty little, is that you've got a second chance even if one of the openers gets out because you'd rate Williamson to book in.

They're playing too many shots, they really are although to be fair, there's perhaps not all that much risk in picking up the full ball on leg stump rather than clipping it along the ground.

Nah, moved a fair bit from around 8s and is crawling down now.

The ease with which they're playing these shots they shouldn't be playing does remind you what a very very good wicket this is. That won't save NZ if the batsmen get themselves out playing like the proverbial millionaires on crack though.

FFS. Does Guptil playing some shots mean NZ win should be eating away the draw? That's a huge pain. Sure a couple of quiet overs will correct that.

My maiden over sees the draw move back in theory hasn't been proved right.

Jucel, as test match traders (okay, in my case a baby one, by comparison), we really ought to know we need to be patient, shouldn't we? This cat on a hot tin room, why the buggery isn't the draw down at 4s yet approach is silly. I totally feel it though, partly because they're just batting too damn positively.

Good point. I've mostly been sleeping while waiting for this chance to get the hell out of gaol but it has been a couple of days of pain.

If Guptil gets out for a run a ball score below 150 I'm not going to be impressed with him. He's connected well with most of his shots but he's just too loose for a test opener, especially in this scenario.

Gets stuck around 6 - 6.2 and few balls later down at 5.3

You think Bookies move betfair? I always assumed it was the other way. It definitely is for horse racing

In Test matches yes as the odds are not changing every ball. They will go from 6s to 5s with one movement & betfair catches up

By:
jucel69
When: 14 Feb 16 00:51
That's why the odds hold for a long time & then suddenly drop a whole point

It actually got down to 6.2 or so then bounced back up for a bit, wobbled for a bit more then went back up as Guptil went into T20 mode (which may not actually have been that irrational, now I think about it) and stalled for a fair whole then as you say, suddenly it makes the whole move it should have been slowly making in one jump instead.

I've gone greedy at what will almost certainly turn out to be the wrong time (I could have got my first three lays down a lot lower bit easy in hindsight, of course) and have moved my remaining lays into the 4.4 to 3.5 range, leaving me a lot more draw green if it gets to them.

its good to be backing the draw when you've got such a flat pitch, you feel like you've always got a chance. trading the draw in test cricket is easily the best way to make money on here, after this series the next test is England in may. how the feck am i supposed to wait till then.
