Cricinfo say they declared. Amazing! Game on, definitely a result now if rain stays away. Can't see India beating the record by 150 odd runs but good luck to 12/1 backers :D

Just imagine Boycott batting in the situation yesterday, Aus would still be under 300 lead.
Boycott's concept of a boundary was, the thing you walk over when you go out to the middle. |

Came back to this rubbish? 65 new posts, all discussing whether they would declare or not? Where are the intelligent people? Smith said he wanted a lead of 300 and a full day to take 10 wickets. The lead was 348. There was 0% chance of them doing anything but bowling from the first ball of the day. Do people not even watch?

India used anything but the light roller yet? Seems a strange decision to not try and flatten a 5th day Sydney pitch out when you need to bat the day out to not lose the game.....

By:
Ind don't deserve to win with such a pathetic bowling attack
By:
If India can get to lunch only 1/2 down then they may have a shout at this. Aus bowlers may well flag as the day goes on - Aus only batted 40 overs after their bowlers had been running in for 6 sessions.

I have come to the conclusion that the Extremely talented One is a luxuary this Indian side can no longer afford and he should stick to the short form if he can't be bovered.
If Pujara recovers his form he should bat at 3. Dharwan is another luxary player I would love to see in this side but needs to sort out his technique. As for India's bolwers there is some raw material there but if a professional cannot bowl it on the spot maybe he should not be playing or the coaches should not be coaching. |

ffs.
Think you find Lyon bowls 35+ overs today, and Smith/Warner will throw a few down. 3-4 quicks will basically share an end. Light workload of 3-4 over spells IMO |
By:
I think they will attack Lyon. If they prod and poke they will get out. Need to get him off his line and length.
By:
I'm not saying they'll win mate
Obviously it's extremely unlikely. But if they are to do it then tiring bowlers will be a big reason, and no doubt they will have a go if they are still in it at lunch. Lyon bowling 35 overs isn't exactly 'guaranteed money' overs from a spinner. His record in 4th innings is pretty poor if I recall correctly. |
By:
India haven't got a fleeting chance in hell of winning this, I know some of you are trying to chase losses and want them to win as that would dearly enhance your betting account but come on..

Kohli to hit another hundred and win the match for India and cement his place as the greatest batsmen around at the moment. Assisted today by ODI double hundred legend Rohit Sharma. Come on India, win a Test in Australia after they let you back in the match.
By:
Yeah I understand, but my point is that they only bowled around 10 overs each yesterday, had near 24 hours off the job, and there is 4 quicks, 2 spinners, and a 3rd spinner in Warner who is quite capable. Pitch is turning, Lyon will be on soon, and be on for most of the day. IMO

Already 4.05 an over required now.

Draw suits me best tbh and that's the way I see the test going ultimately. Would be interesting though if India do have a go.
Also agree with the above - De Villiers is defo the best batsman in the world for mine. |
By:
de villiers is sh1t. kohli score tons for fun.
By:
de villiers makes kohli look like Chris the Phantom Martin!
By:
He's rated number 1 in both test and odi rankings - can't get much more comprehensive than that for De Villiers.
