you can't blame them digging in with 7 down, just score off the bad balls, the rest keep out, if they chuck wickets away now they could still easily get beat, sensible to try and take defeat out of the equation

It is Test Cricket. People complain when they don't score at 4 an over! That battle between Saha and Starc was great. More batsmen need to learn how to play out time.

It is not just the commentators who are stupid though. having said that I thought India should have been looking to rotate the strike more earlier in the innings. Singles can cause as much stress as the occasional 4 and it helps change a bowlers line or length at times usually resulting in more bad balls to hit. Maybe the pitch isn't great for stroke making but one form of attack is to mess the bowler around and they have not really been doing that save going after Lyon at times and he has taken 20 wickets so far! |

I think you are both wrong. 300 will be fine but in slightly less than 3 sessions. Should they bat before tea I think they will go at it like biglio. They can score 100 easy in a session and if they bat half the next session they will have enough to declare. Question is can India bat until tea? The declaration is not important right now.
