Greg Matthews, old Aus spinner, suggested the wicket as one of the most spin friendly he has seen, and would be surprised if it goes into day 5, or at least will defo see a result.

i think aussies want 600 and maybe declare with 17 overs left in day 2

Got plenty enough.  I would be declaring now and having a few before tea at them.

they worried abouth kholi and Rahane no chance they declare under 550

they seem to bat for personal goals here they need to kick on and up the scoring rate lol

Aus will look for around 600, and then aim for a follow on.

I think there will be a result. Pitch looks to spin like a top day 5.

The pitch is what it is.  Don't think they are that selfish, but at the same time, You have Burns trying to break his way into the team, needs to score runs, Marsh in there, been given plenty of chances, needs to score, and a stand in captain who can't guarantee their spots if he tells gives them a license to hit and it doesn't come off for them...

Don't think they would take the follow on regardless would they?  Is all good in theory, but bowling for potentially 120 overs, and then committing to another innings just doesn't seem that smart.  They have enough now.  ffs.

this wicket better start to break up quick smart or we wont be seeing a result here, its a road at the moment.
dif will bat well into the 3rd session and give them selves around 20 overs at the Indians.

can Indian last 100 overs, I'm not so sure.

Pitch is fine now.  Just India aren't potent.  Nowhere near as good as the batsmen are making it look.  Already turning plenty.

aussie bowling isn't that potent either and India bat good down to 5-6

the 3rd session today plays the whole test imo. if india are 2 for at the end of play today then its all over

ryan harris is not reliable and he can break down  and starc and hazlewood not consistent, lyon can only bowl a match winning spell every 6 matches
By:

When: 07 Jan 15 03:48
Not reliable?  Has the best figures in world cricket, or very close.  Lyon was way underused and only now being seen as a real long spell spinner.  Starc bowling well, Hazlewood good enough, and Watson still pops up for a wicket, and they can't score off him.  Plenty enough bowling, pitch doing plenty enough.  Wasting time here batting.

Besides that, the market hasn't moved for a day and a half, and won't until India go in to bat.  CoolCool

Looking at an opening bowler that is bowling sub 120, and judging a pitch on it....  lol  India will get skittled for sub 330 on this pitch.

25 overs at them tonight.  Be surprised if they aren't ~3/65 come stumps with the draw trading about 4.20.

Would love to see India unbeaten at stumps, as that is the best money you can make, but can't see it happening.

India can't win, but under Kohli might try.

How much it rains tomorow crucial.

I'll look to lay the draw around 2 today, but at some point India will try to accelerate and lose wickets.

i'd love to be getting evens that any form of precipitation has SFA affect on this test.
anyone taking weather into account is kidding themselves.

Agree- I live a few k from the ground and there seems little chance of any rain.  Even if there was rain there is enough light to make up the overs as they start early.  It just depends if India can get a couple of good sessions.  It is possible that Kohli may try and force a result but the bottom line is it won't be their option if Australia bat them out of the game like the last test.

more chance of an earthquake or lunar eclipse affecting the result than rain

I live about 12,000 miles from the ground and from here there seems absolutely no chance of rain either!

Am looking forward to a good nights cricket got food and booze. Would like to see a bit of Agg on the pitch just to know the spirit of cricket is alive down underWink!

This Rahul kid is highly rated by India. I am glad he has been given a chance over Dharwan and Pujara after his nightmare in Melbourne. I'd like to see both of them back though at some time.

Reverse swing starting. That plus Lyon gonna makes things hard for India.

India are a long way behind pxb but this pitch looks so comfortable I fancy a knock myself! You might well be right in that a result will follow but I am not laying the draw till it is heavy odds on, hopefully this afternoon. India wil still be a long way behind.

I think India have had a team meeting and realised it is a 5 day Test Match! WTF! Intelligence! I would grind this out too. Plenty of time to score runs.
