As I said earlier, don't over-analyse, just lay Indians away from home and enjoy the carnage
![]() Although to be fair atleast they went for the win this time unlike that embarrassing effort against South Africa where they **** themselves. If this is a sign of things to come under Kohli's future captaincy then it'll be good for test cricket. |

Another example in test cricket why you never back the draw at short odds. What a great game and great humility shown by Kholi in his post game speech. Cricket was the winner all round here.

Good point Tyco. Very well spoken by Kohli considering how disappointed he must have been
|
|
By:
Yeah I feel for Kholi, he must have been shattered at coming so close and especially with the hand he played himself. Just a few more runs from him and it may have been a different result.

Without those 2 bad umpiring decisions, India would have won.
Unfortunately for them, Brisbane is next, where Aus have their best chance of a decisive win. 2-0 down by the end of the week I'm afraid. Then Aus will play conservatively. |

vijay would have been out in the 16th over if they had drs though.
but of course the game is better with it. the most tiresome bit however is the way in which india inherently flawed excuse is entertained and tolerated by commentators and journalists. it's so very straight forward to refute it. |

Ind only took 12 wickets and came close to winning the Test match. My tactic of lay Ind and collect 5 days later worked out as usual in the end.
Well played Kohli- perhaps the greatest batsman of all time. |

For all we say about the game and I am repeating myself after a few brews, this game epitomizes why test cricket will always be the number one game in town. For India to go from 32's to 2's and Australia to go from 20's to winning all on the last day, with all the drama, the courageousness of Kholi, the brain fade, etc, it has everything. Test match cricket for mine is here to stay.

no heart murmurs on the way YOMOMMA? I can see a steel in this young Indian batting lineup. Kohli great bat, man and leader. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
|
|
By:
well done Yomomma but I certainly did not "lay India" outright and collect. But that may be the best strategy in the next game.

No, I was sleeping. It's on in the middle of the night for me.

what a final day trading though
, Kohli was immense in this test and what a fine cricketing attitude he displayed as captain ![]() |

Test match cricket for mine is here to stay. there's no doubt it is. very few sports can deliver the sort of payoff test cricket can, in fact, no sport really can. the problem is that many people don't want to invest the time and would rather invest a great deal less for a much weaker payoff. but that doesn't give their claims any legitimacy. |

Agree with the sentiments above. Sadly though the vast majority do not hence the limited overs stuff being where the money is/the more focal parts of the game nowadays by some way.

laying india at 8-1 aint exactly gonna take u to the penthouse suite at the bellagio, unless ur bank 5 or 6 figures.....obviously its easy cash laying india away from home.....i hope u all laid the boolloox out of the draw as i told u to.....before u all get carried away by kohli remember what happened to him in england just a few months ago....he was jimmy andersons b*tch.....lets c how he plays 4 the next few tests this was the easiest pitch india gonna play on......im gonna absoluetly lump on when they play at the scg (do it 4 hughsey)

india gunna find out next week why brisbane normally kicks of the series
![]() |
|
By:
it will be as green as the outfield I would suggest
|
|
By:
draw is really short
![]() expected 3/1+ for typical gabba test, yet its barely above 2/1 |
|
By:
Market spooked by the BoM weather forecast. Draw went from 4.4 to sub 3.
Doubt we will lose more than a session overall, and if it's a green seamer that wont matter. |
|
By:
Live in Bris. Work 100 mtres from Gabba. Sparkling hot brisbane day, not a cloud in the sky. Be extremely surprised if we get any hint of rain before 5 pm local time.
|
|
By:
For all the talk of green tops etc, there has been 2 draws from the last 4 tests at the Gabba, and neither was overly affected by rain as far as I can remember. Caveat to that I guess is that this test was rescheduled and is this pitch under prepared??
|
|
By:
What's your take on the forecast for the rest of the test Ozbattla?
|
|
By:
'Gabba curator Kevin Mitchell Jr has delivered a sobering warning to India ahead of the second Commonwealth Bank Test in Brisbane starting on Wednesday, conceding that the bouncy pitch may be greener than usual due to heightened humidity.'
I'll be interested to see how India's seamers go if they bowl 1st. |
|
By:
Tractor.. Weather very predictable here at the moment .. Hot and humid with a chance of a storm late in the day. Havent had a storm for about a week and when they come not until 5pm or so which is when play is due to close each day. Dont see it being to affected.
|

Thanks Ozbattla, keep us informed if any changes, I would have thought that India look a good price to start off with on a result pitch especially if they bowl 1st.
Enjoy the day!!! |
