With wickets in hand at tea, India will go for it

i agree, depends how many wickets they have left, if these 2 are still in india will have a big chance

aus without a captain now wont help them

It's either the back or hamstring for Clarke. I think the end is near for him with respect to his career

enjoying the channel 9 seething.

you can't expect him to give those.

it's the hamstring getting done because of the back i suspect.

think it was a mistake to dose himself up and have (presumably) cortisone injections the other day. all it does is allow you to aggravate a pretty bad condition without feeling it.

certainly it contributed to a premature end to flintoff's career.

dstyle what you think about the aus 2nd innings declaration, you know your cricket

India have a live chance here imo.  Think it's either an India win or an Aus win - don't fancy the draw at all despite the odds.  Pujara and Vijay are the only real 'stayers' in the India lineup.  Kohli, Rahane, Rohit, and Saha - all will score relatively quickly if they do score.

india only pick up 12 wickets in 200 overs they bowled they never deserve a easy 3.5 run rate 4th innings chase, i think aussies should have put on another 50 runs in morning session and set 410 in 92 overs

Clarke's an aggressive captain though - has worked for him in the past, and may well do today.  Doubt he expected the Aus attack to look as toothless as it has though.  Considering that we are seeing turn, and also reverse, you'd expect them to be in a better position.  Long way to go mind you.

the pitch is flat for fast medium bowlers anyway, lyon got abit of spin from rough thats about it you cant be setting targets cause of the bowler foot marks

seemed fine to me.

370 runs in a day, even an extended day, is a LOT of runs particularly when the moment a side finds itself in danger they tend to shut up shop, as well as a fielding captain being able to be negative in their fields and bowling if he starts getting concerned.

95 overs also gives them a decent crack with the second new ball

agree that india could well start to threaten now - it's actually a much more positive way to avoid losing as well.good batting from these two and about 50 quick runs away from forcing out some close fielders.

Quite rate Harris myself.  Siddle is like net practice though I agree.  Lyon's record in 4th innings is terrible, and Mitch is quality but appears to be scared atm of bowling how we all know he can.  His reaction to hitting Kohli first innings and lack of bounders thereafter pretty telling.

i'd not be writing off harris until after we've played on some of the more bowler friendly wickets. he's a very good bowler.

100 test wickets has he is hardly a legend, but he is steady bowler

100 wickets at under 23 in 24 tests with a strike rate under 50 ain't too bad.

again, let's see how he goes at Brisbane.

Conveniently forgetting that he gets them at an average of 23!

3 an over until the new ball would leave things very interesting if India still have wickets in hand.  Needing around 5/6 an over for the last 17 odd overs against the new ball

i think india go for win now, aus give india a sniff a 360 total in 98 overs would be good in cricket like 10 years ago but not now with 20 20 batting styles in cricket
By:
slip5
When: 13 Dec 14 04:13
i thought aus would set 400 in 92 overs that would take out the india win for sure

I wonder how much money there is to be made backing the tie 'no' at $1.01 every match... Couldn't be bothered myself by sometimes I see how much is matched there and reckon there'd be a fair bit in it
