This Australia attack will be too much to handle for the Indians. They notoriously don't travel well and I doubt they'll have much stomach for the fight, particularly after the devastating incident with Phil Hughes.I don't think Mitchell Johnson will be bowling too many half volleys outside the off stump!

drop in pitches these days in adelaide. past big first innings scores don't really count for much now

Indian players usually struggle against the Australian pacers in Australia.. given what happened to Hughes recently, I can see the fear factor striking the Indian camp. They would be absolutely terrified to face the likes of Johnson & co. As the sametime part of me doubts whether Aussie pacers will bowl at the same intensity which they showed in the recent Ashes. An interesting series for sure!!

I think India will want to man up for this one. There is a new arrogance in Indian cricket which unfortunately in my view is bordering on conceit certainly from the administrators and this is possibly sifting down to the players though I hope not too much. They will bat aggressively I am sure. This should make for an exciting spectacle.
India have some fire power of their own in Varon and Yadav. I hope they play as a pair rather than Bhuvi, Ishant and one of them. Personally I would like to see all 4 play plus Ashwin but we know this won't happen. I think it could be a relatively even contest given home field advantage to Aus( sorry couldn't help that, have been watching too much NFL ). Hopefully Adelaide will be a more genteel Welcome to Australia Mate than the Gabbatoir! |

Aus scored 570 1st inn last match on a drop in pitch. Then a woeful Eng scored 172, with MJ taking 7.
I expect India to do rather better, and probably a good toss for them to lose. Warner/Finch key. Get them early and India will be on their way to restricting Aus to a gettable 1st inn target. |

Finch doesn't play test matches.
I think this is India's only hope of getting anything in Australia in a test series, Gabba would of been too lively a pitch for them, Adelaide is probably our flattest pitch and the conditions are more India-like than anywhere else in the world, hot, dry and humid. Having said that, I still don't give them a chance. They have proven time and time again they just can't cope with lively decks. I don't think the Hughes situation will effect the way we play our cricket, it may have been different if you were playing a State game against your mates but you're not. You're playing a Test Match against a team who belted you last time you played them in their country. This will be England 2.0, revenge will be the dish served but it won't be served cold, it will be served red hot. I am talking 150 clicks an hour, hot. |

Will also start red on Aussies, but think they win in a grueling test match.Weather over SE Australia looks a bit troughy next week.Cloud, showers some humidity.Think Indian seamers may surprise.

No evidence that India take Test Cricket seriously, especially away from home when they're record is horrific.
Fletcher has not been able to affect the mentality that places a far higher priority on the one day stuff. |
By:
India have less ticker than South Africa and that's a fair effort, Australia 4-0
By:
Aus 4-0.
India's mentality towards test cricket is non-existent. It is not treated as important unfortunately. Away from home - same old problems no doubt. |

Going agaianst the grain here. Think Indias young batting line up will be keen and it looks strong. $7.20 back for India is hard to pass up , to trade later.

Good to see they got daily markets and session runs markets i can have bet and enjoy first session without staying up all night
By:

JESUS CHRIST ITS LIKE WATCHING A 20-20 GAME

JESUS CHRIST ITS LIKE WATCHING A 20-20 GAME specifically it's just like the IPL. The bowling is utter sh1te and the wicket's a road. |

Nice to see Warner get to exactly 63 NO

How bad for Clarke the back problems
By:
Think he has just played his last game
By:
Got a great test record lets hope it is just a spasm but looked very bad
By:
Even day in the end... Bad decision to send the Nightwatchman out with 30 mins still to play. Be surprised to see Clarke bat in first Inns, but some chance to be back for second. I still fancy India's batsmen will get runs here.

ALWAYS A BRAVE MAN TO FANCY INDIA GETTING RUNS IN TEST MATCHES AWAY FROM INDIA/SRI/BANGA.
By:
well if they don't get them here, god knows where there will get them.
it seems unlikely that australia will break 1.3ish even if they rack up 550, given that there's also a chance of them being out for under 400 and india posting a solid reply, australia could well be 3+ by the final session. |
By:
India's first 20 overs against the new ball will determine this match.
Lose just 1 or even 2 and India should post a decent total. |
By:
Anyone have info if Clarke will bat again 1st innings please?
By:
word is that he's had a schooner of cortisone injected into his back, so i would imagine that he'll come out again.
By:
1.89 was matched, gone back down now.
By:
Runs lines have been up and down as people unsure if Clarke would bat again or not.
By:
anyone know when lunch will be ?
By:
rain again
By:
the draw should be odds on
By:
I'd rather take odds on India all out before close of play day 3
By:
Do they catch up the overs in this match that theyve lost?
By:
Yes I would of thought so, I think they make them up in the morning session though, with pla, starting 30 minutes earlier
By:
Australia, at this point surely try to keep batting for an hour or so, to try and ensure that they only have to bat once. I think ideally they will want to swing the bat make another 100-150, then send India in for a tricky 30-40 mins before lunch and then go at them again after lunch.
I am still holding faith with the Indian batting. Possibly misjudged! haha but we will see. |
