I wouldn't say that is the worst ball in the history of Test cricket but it is up there!  Well bowled JP!

You must be feeling better too pxb!  I certainly am now can concentrate on my say out at Lords.  didn't sleep well.  One good thing is that the pub won't be open before the start of play today so I shall have my wits about me!

WD,

Indeed.

Hope you enjoy your day at the Test.

I had tickets for the last Perth Ashes Test, but 41C temps too hot even for me, so I sold the tickets. Maybe in 2 years time.

Thanks pxb,

I shall enjoy it a helluva lot more now!  Can you imagine going to a test match after getting up at 5.30 am and then have the knowledge you have lost a bucketful of money on a dead cert sure thing and you lost because of one of the most audacious batting displays in the history of test cricket and because two spinners bowled pelt on the most helpful pitch they could ever dream of?  I think I would have got arrested for foul language and abusive behaviour I am sure!

Now to quote the other bard....sun is shining, weather is sweet. makes you wanna move your dancing feet!

that sort of pitch! backing the lankans at 2 on this pitch against this attack is high risk!

Much credit has to go to Amla here.

People were questioning his decision last night, not me.  I thought it brave and inspiring.  Not his fault his spinners let him down badly but he had a trump card up his sleeve and people forgot it. Glad we didn't.  Not counting my chickens but well done everyone...AGAIN!  This has been a great summer already!

I wonder if Rahane saw that!

DRS has been great for test Cricket and Umpires!

Actually a good decision by Bowden.  I think that did hit the glove but evidence not conclusive.  No controversy there.

People talk about umpire howlers.  I can live with that.  What I don't like is the way players put pressure on umpires by constant and aggressive appealing.  Stuart Broad looks like death when an umpire gives not out against him but most of his appeals are rubbish.  Rahane was not out last night.  not a howler a genuine mistake by the umpire that could have been cleaned up by DRS.  I hope india learn from that and stop throwing their weight around.
