I think you might be surprised Mike. It may well cloud over by the time England bat. There is uneven bounce and a little spin. Nothing is forgone here

Jadeja is a good batsman, a bit of a dasher but hits it clean and long. Has not batted his best for India though but these pitches might suit him with no pace or bounce

spin is the real issue for me WD. ali tells us nothing about how much spin this deck is taking and it could well be a filthy wicket to bat on last. however, i think you may be a bit early, the draw can still go a lot lower.

You are right. the draw will probably go lower. I just wanted to bank some in case jadeja got out quickly. I have to say he looks ominously impressive to me today. I think the pitch will be filthy to bat on days 4 and 5 but fear the weather will curtail periods of them. I think the biggest danger is the straight pea roller. People will be weary against the odd lifter and progressive albeit slow spin but the grubber gets you. |
