Agree with the guys in the studio. I expect Jimmy to come out and bowl well He hasn't bowled well all series. |
By:
But he has slightly better conditions for his game today

Small 3.5k lay of Aus on the chance of an early wicket.
By:
Good rythmn from Broad

Nice shot by Warner. Just no swing for Anderson
By:
Maybe i'm clutching at straws but I still think England can make a game of it, just find some swing Jimmy!!!
By:
Hard to believe now, incredible even, that there was a market for an England whitewash.
By:
That noise was Warners knuckles scraping the ground...

Not sure intelligent comes into play when discussing stereotypical Poms.....

hard to believe that sir beefy was predicting 10-0, yet still somehow manages to continue working as an expert analyst.

Think the ball moved for Aus further into the new ball more so than from the start. Hope isn't lost. Still holding out hope for my lay to come good. Problem being, that if Warner hits a couple, he will smack any hope of swing straight off the ball.

I remember listening to a short Botham interview before the First Test where he said he had seen nothing to change his mind that this would not be another whitewash for England. At the time I thought he was being very optimistic. With hindsight it is just hilarious that he could get things so wrong.

See you later Warner
By:
Bang. Money in the bank....
By:
Yes good shout Cardshark
By:
Aus score 280-310 this innings for mine. May sit on this lay, and throw another in if the odds come back in....
By:
Yes I fancy England to get at least one more wicket before lunch
By:
some good tipping on this thread, great stuff !

Nice shot by Watson but don't mind that

can you imagine the equivalent in football, vagabond?
glenn hoddle sitting there saying "no problem this world cup. we'll p!ss the group stages, breeze through the knockouts, then beat germany 4-0 in the final. I'm serious. that's what'll happen." then we get smacked out of the group stages by azerbaijan, iraq and hungary - and he's still in a job for the next tournament. |
By:
I agree it was a silly comment by Botham, i didn't watch/read it, was he being wholly serious or sarcastic?
By:
I think he was sort of half way between being serious and just being a bombastic c0ck for the sake of it, swagger.
By:
Botham should go on one of his long walks and just keep walking....
By:
Sounds about right!

Who would you guys/girls have as England captain? I think Cook is a quality opener but i just don't think he has the characer to be a top class captain. Problem is we aren't exactly spoilt for choice - I suppose Ian Bell would be next in line? Did/does he captain Warwickshire?

I think the Aussies will love Bressa on this deck

27 Dec 13 01:12 I think he was sort of half way between being serious and just being a bombastic c0ck for the sake of it, swagger. He is the nearest thing we have to an Australian although in his defence I don't think he has a criminal record. I like Shane Warne when he talks cricket. He is insightful and sharp as a tack but listen to his series score predictions for tv! |
By:
Yes you can't help but have a lot of Shane Warne when he talks about cricket, pretty much always bang on the money and entertaining to boot
By:
* lot of respect

Come on England!

Aus still way too short.

JD knew!

If we can get Clarke then there's a chance of a low total here - bounce him early
