I think in terms of charcter: Warne, McGrath, Gilchrist were really good ambassadors on the field as well as off the field . Warne started off as a bit of a brat, but he matured later on life.

Got to give credit to the England bowlers, on this flat track, they have slowed down the scoring, picked up wickets after losing the toss

Not sure the wicket is as flat as you suggest.  The new ball didn't do a lot, but the older ball is moving around plenty.
You notice with the Kookaburra last game too once around 30 overs hit, collapso.

The worst thing anybody can do is listen to the commentators re pitches! The game is full of variables, both mental & physical. Best to make your own judgments on what u see

whats the difference between this 'drop in' pitch compared to previous Adelaide Oval test matches? I do think its offering a bit for the bowlers, especially when there is overcast conditions, as the bowlers seam to get some movement in the line. Anderson bowled a good spell prior to getting Watson out, and he fell for the 2 card trick. That Monty Panesar delivery was a beauty, that suprised Smith. Adelaide Oval is traditionally a lower bounce wicket, and its playing to its reputation

Its offering a bit for spin and fast bowlers. I think England are looking at back at their decision to play 2 spinners and feeling good about themselves. Traditionally, only the Sydney wicket in Australia would you even consider playing 2 spinners....but England have taken a bit of a gamble...so far its ok

Look at the bowlers foot marks. There will be a fair bit to work with once the buck toothed hillbilly has slung a few to the left and right

The play was and still is to lay the Aussies

Watson went out to a ball that stopped in the pitch, then a ball that spun 2 feet.  Plenty enough in this pitch to get wickets and the run rate has been poor all day.  Bad balls have been put away, but hard to score.

AJDS....... I still believe laying the draw is far better value.....my current position (of course, we can both be right)....England batting right now is certainly not to be trusted.....well, I for one won't put myself in a position to be relying on it.

Being in Ireland you might be too close to UK media, England are a good side, but not "great", as they make themselves out to be - far from it in fact...don't be fooled.
