no im not shocked, Clarke does some unusual declarations. I remember one test match in India he declared their innings on the 1st day at 210/9 to give a bowl at India for 2-3 overs

Clarke is always thinking about 'moving the game ahead' which is good / a bit different. He is prepared to lose in order to win games

I think the plan would have been to give him his hundred, or at least a chance at it. I think the plan would have been bat for 45 mins to an hour, but after discussions last night and weather around, they decided to get straight out there.
One of those things, and I doubt very much Warner would take any issue with it at all. Seen it all happen before, waiting on somebody getting 100, then the partner is near 50, and then you wait for the 150, then the hundred, it has to end somewhere. I highly expect this was weather related though, and the team would have known in plenty of time it was the likely scenario. |
