was gonna back england to win the series @ nice high st. prices , cos england , of course ,only need to win 2 matches and not 3 in a row to take the series if this match is a NR, but Cardiff saturday looks like having dodgy weather ,with lots of rain forecast in all Cry

I can tell you it is definitely getting heavier again in Stoke and hasn't stopped here in the last 3 hours - suspect this is going to be a washout (declared interest I have backed NO to compensate for lack of cricket to watch - but I am not ramping just looking out of the window)

england won't wanna go back on , maybe that will influence the mopping up operation , if oz batted first and were 59 for 3 off 15.1 overs , there would be much more motivation to mop up and get the pitch ready for play

there's some more rain behind that large band. Not heavy but probably enough to call the game off

England have almost no chance of winning this game in the circumstances and would welcome the opportunity to still be able to win the Series if this is a 'No-Game'.
As the home team and therefore with some level of influence over the situation there is no chance that they will be going back on the paddock today.
