taking the england approach here sl it seems. Slow but solid platform early on before relying on hitters down the order. Perhaps 250-260 in mind. Back in on 225+ at 2.75 here. Not sure why as thirimanne looks a walking wicket, but we'll see how it goes.

what are they doing
By:
Betfair mobile on cricket market sucks..
By:
are sri lanka trying or are they playing for ipl
By:
Apparently SL are aiming to be 250/4 at stumps today and try and get to 500 later tomorrow. Someone should tell them its not a test match

india bowling is steady but nothing special
By:
B Kumar through 8 now, should be his first spell done. Perhaps see some spin over after next. SL need to start rotating strike though.
By:
aston , they are effectively 2 down with dilshans retirement , so crease occupation at this stage is understandable
By:
remember to double the score after 30 overs, so should get around 110 off 50 overs lol

i think they're doing the right thing. look what happened to SAF yesterday. they need to score over 230 to have any chance.
By:
kumur is the type of bowler you see in county cricket everyday
By:
thirimanne gawnnn! looked absolutely clueless
By:
Next, oh and stand there like a dummy plz
By:
7 off 31 - very bad move to send him in up the order.
By:
so he stayed cautious but still got out, how pointless
By:
this is done. Even if they bat brilliantly, SL can get 240. India will p1ss that.
By:
Kumar is a bowler you see in county cricket every day
![]() ![]() dont know which world you are living in Footi |
By:
only hope for SL (as it has been many times through the years) is a mega partnership by sanga and jaya
By:
need to put on 150 off about 22 overs here
By:
They are effectively 36 for 3 after 16
By:
30 overs they will score 80
By:
C'mon rain lets have a 20/20

i think they're doing the right thing. look what happened to SAF yesterday. they need to score over 230 to have any chance. At the current run rate they will get 116, do you think that will be enough? |
By:
another pathetic game like yesterday
By:
do they not realise they will need atleast 250 against indias batting lineup? f ucking mugs
By:
265 wont be enough, and they wont get near that so game over again
By:
ur right clueless, this is as good as over now
By:
shame so many of the games have been a slow death just going through the overs knowing who wins
By:
its like they have not batted in these conditions
By:
I dont think you need 250s on this pitch..Indians are equal mugs when playing against a moving ball. Anything above 200 with SL bowling and these conditions would be a challenging total. Important thing is that they dont look like reaching there
By:
just blows my mind at times, its not that hard to get bat on ball for a single
By:
Yeah Footie..SLankans and Indians are aliens to these conditions. 9/10 times they ll mug in this condition
By:
They are scared to hit the ball, because they just cant face that sickening feeling when you get out.
By:
i think if they get to 230 we have a game. it looks a horrible pitch to bat on, but india are very very strong. if india hit 1.1 ill lay them again.
By:
india's batting lineup won't fail to chase anything under 250 imo.
Dilshan was showing the way with 12 from 14. You can't play this negatively as a team and expect to get away with it in this format - Sanga and Jaya you can understand as they are less likely to throw it away. Players like Thirimanne though are just wasting time playing like that as they are never going to make it up later on. |
By:
yeah but sri lanka have won test matches in england
By:
this partnership absolutely crucial to sri lankas dwindling chances , need to put a score on these 2
By:
they are going way to slow 3.75 run rate is acceptable
