Met Office forecast changed some but not for the better. Heavy rain forecast around 4pm, which makes squeezing in 40 overs late in the day unlikely. Models don't look much better. Perhaps some play after 2pm.

This is one to keep your eye on closely I think. Last start time would be 4:17pm as it was on Sunday. They are fast at getting the ground dry and if there is a fair break in the rain they might just manage it. Probably unlikely but could be fun and games like Sunday. If only they had scheduled it today - absolutely lovely day here in the SW. Currently on NO completed match.

Quick question. If SL vs India can't play a complete match do they play a super over to see who goes through?

By:
RMB- if the match cant be completed due to weather India qualify for the final as group winners. A super over would only be played if a completed match ends in a tie.
By:
So if its a tie they only need 2 more overs to decide the winner but if its not a tie they need at least 40 overs?
Crazy rules! Surely its better to have a match even if only 5 overs then no play at all as people at the ground and at home want to watch cricket! |

already raining in cardiff. Anyone backing yes at 1.5 is mad
By:
Its only going to head lower, after this rain there will be at least 3 hours of relatively clear weather, the next front is very questionable whether it will make it far enough to the west, 1.5 is value. imo.

So far there have been several mat
By:
So far there have been several matches that yes has traded odds against at some stage but every match has been completed so far
By:
I think we'll get a start in - but the problem as always is that they will play it as a 50 over game. The afternoon rain is the real danger.

Looks promising to me.

By:
not much rain after 12 noon will get a good game in imo
By:
I think 1.37 is value now. Can't see any issues really.

Radar sites so much better than weather forecasts
By:
big gap around cardiff , so no real threat of rain
By:
Not far from the ground - yet again Cardiff have put on some crappy weather. It was a lovely day yesterday.
It stopped raining around 50mins ago - not much wind. Lots of dark clouds right across the sky. Reasonably warm conditions and I have heard some birs whistling away so I think they know what is going to happen .... |
By:
yeah looks promising now. Got mates at the ground as well who say similar to the above. Still taking a bit of no cmm here though and hopefully we get some rain after lunch to cause some panic.
By:
I imagine there'll be plenty of time for full 50 overs in first innings. Only need 2 hours then to ensure CMM Yes
By:
As long as they start no issues I'd say. Worst case would be some light drizzle for a bit
By:
Start delayed
By:
further inspection to come
By:
not sure why they waited so long to start roping the outfield etc when it stopped raining a while back
By:
Don't think it matters - that later rain moving away now.
By:
10.40 am toss ( according to simon doull on twitter ), no news on any reduction in overs
By:
10.20am Toss is set for 10.40am, and play at 11.00am. All that, needless to say, is if there is no more rain.
By:
that later band will hit imo, but atm doesnt look like it will be significant enough to cause any major delay.

By:
need to start first, light rain falling again according to nasser. covers not coming on yet though so probs nothing major.
By:
main cover back on according to cricinfo
By:
should be gone very soon per radar
By:
was always on the cards if we didn't start on time - they'd have played through it for sure
By:
hardly and rain behind this ,should be full day from now on
By:
india win the toss and bowl. gsm

we haven't even lost any overs yet, think we'll be fine.
By:
SL will be 90-7 lol another train to 1.01

cmm market holding up pretty well for what appears a clear radar. Premium ones the only ones worth looking at.
