Deluge tuesday though.

was supposed to be deluge last day last test, never happened, and showers forcast for 5 days away,
By:
nigel, showers are clearing more quickly than anticipated, but changeable

loving all these pre toss swings in the market
, cant beat test cricket for that ![]() |

Oh agreed. Just trying to assess the price. I often make more money before a ball is bowled and then lose it in play ;-(
By:
Well it's chucking it down here now and blowing a gale too......no play before lunch in my opinion.
How will they manage to keep the bails on?Can be tricky if your bails drop off!!!!:) |
By:
A 3pm sounds about right to me. A couple of brief showers after and a bit less than 30 overs today.
By:
What's drainage like here? Might not manage to play at all if it's like Edgbaston.
By:
Dodger, I looked up the rule, and they can play without bails if both captains agree.
By:
could be great trading this. Lay around evens, back above 2.5
By:
Drainage ok at Headingley Nigel.A few years ago the WI one dayer was abandoned but it was like a monsoon for about 4 hours in the morning and they had no chance.

wow , market moved quickly there
By:
showers look like clearing before 11am
By:
NZ will almost certainly insert if they win the toss.I think England will too. Any opinions?
By:
Will definitely be playing this aft and can play til 7....wish I'd laid the draw at 2.14 now!
We're going today but waiting til the weather settles down a bit. |

have a good one artful , hope that you get to see some play today , ball should be swinging about once there is some play ...what happened to the 'toss combination ' market we used to get form test matches ? i can't see it

interestingly while the draw has been shortening at the expense of England NZ has remained fairly constant since the market opened
In fact when I laid England at 1.65 the day after the 1st test finished NZ were available to back at 13. Now England are approaching evens yet ive just laid NZ at 12. In fact the odds now are closer to what they were before Lords. I think this proves my point that the market over-reacted to Sundays play immediately after but now is taking more of a long term view(including 0-0 in NZ) |

"The toss is important and is a 50:50"
Not the IPL then? |
By:
and back in again - loving this ;-)

Anyone sitting on a hilltop overlooking Headingley should be coining it.
By:
I think people are also forgetting that a maximum of 10 degrees means drying out will take a lot longer and be far more problematic
By:
enlgand should just go out and slog for the 1st innings.. get 150, then make NZ folow on when there all out for 12.

odds on in ten mins I reckon

Nigel, I'm a trader ( I won't say how big, as I don't want a p1ssing contest). As an Aussie, I can't trade in play, so pre-day 1 in a Test match with rain around, is about as good as it gets for me.

aston, the latter. Somewhat tongue in cheek.

As an aussie i cant trade in play When they are playing in Aus I try and stay up as late as I can. Pro plus helps, although falling asleep in front of the computer with unmatched bets is not advisable |

Yorkshire CCC @Yorkshireccc 50s
It's a delayed start at Headingley & the umpires won't inspect until it stops raining. It will take 90 mins to clear excess water from field |
