Judging by the wicket it might not matter!

England bowlers not really threatening at all. NZ look good to post abig total and then game over even with 1 possibly 2 sessions tomorrow. Unless there is a couple of quick wickets we are looking at draw being 1.4 or lower very soon.

its fear factor that drives the market. it over reacts. i topped up before the start at 1.95 on the draw based on the weather report and nz having 9 wickets left. getting rather nervous now but have to keep the faith because i think its going to be a draw.

always on the cards.  That initial patch surprised me (and the groundsman I hear!) going 20 miles east of welly.

I'm amazed there is still odds on draw tbh. Very disappointed with bowling attack.

rain will bring wickets.  it's just whether there's enough time left....

cricinfo : 12.40pm: Gnasher reports from the ground that the rain is falling steadily and more covers have been brought on. Could just be a passing shower but the likelihood of a full day's play would appear to be diminishing...

When: 17 Mar 13 00:47
as they say though, possibly just a shower
By:

reckon we'll lose an hour's play

Always the danger when you enforce the fo. Strike bowlers get knackered and the part timers bowl pies.

The right decision by Cook. Would have been a definite draw otherwise.

but make it up at the back end possibly

lets imagine we lose an hour today and tomorrow is a full day (havent seen forecast) can nz save this from here on batting merit alone?

if you want to show lara's brilliance you shouldn't be showing this innings of 400 on what was a road (which i was lucky enough to see all of at the ground); you should be showing his 1999 knock against the great australian side to put them 2-1 up in a four match series.

there's nothing tendulkar ever did that came close to being as good as this.
By:
newco-Joe67
When: 17 Mar 13 00:51
Probably little to no play until 4pm so just 2 hours play maybe today at best and tomorrow looking at it again and trusting it is more accurate now just a day away there should be playable time for 5 or 6 hours. New ball a long way off yet so only the rain actually can help England win here. It would take something special though and they just look too tired.

Tomorrow is currently a washout per forecasts

By:
newco-Joe67
When: 17 Mar 13 00:59
The forecast i am looking at has only the same percipitation as was forecast all morning today. Heavier in morning tomorrow and after 8pm so i wouldn't bank on a washout but still not enough time. Could be in a situation at best for England to be chasing 150 in 2 hours batting with light drizzles .

12:42 Local Time, 23:42 GMT: The rain is starting to fall steadily at the Basin and more covers have been brought out. Keep in mind, the Basin has a dodgy drainage system.
Just as the players were heading towards the lunch interval, the ground staff rushed out and covered the square. The weather generally comes from the North-West area of Wellington and there are reports that it is raining there at the moment.
